My sister and her husband and occasionally the grown kids go to PV frequently. She thinks she knows everything, when I once asked her about the safety issue now in Mexico, she says “oh, its’ perfectly safe where we go”........keep thinking that sweetheart.
Visited Lake Chapala/Ajijic several times and it was like paradise, never felt threatened. However, there were armed federales in the heart of Guadalajara and the town of Tequila — but no problems.
Been to Bahamas twice on Carnival and had wonderful time. Going to Cozumel and the Caymans in May on Carnival and not worried in the least. I always avoid the planned land tours, just don’t like traveling in herds.
