Conservative blogger Andrew Breitbart collapsed while walking near his Brentwood home, his father-in-law said.

Sources told The Times that Breitbart was rushed to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center about midnight, where he was pronounced dead of natural causes. No further details were available.

His father-in-law, actor Orson Bean, told the Associated Press that a neighbor saw Breitbart fall and called paramedics. Bean also said Breitbart had suffered from heart problems in the past.

Even with a history of heart problems, I hope the fact that he collapsed on the street justifies an autopsy.

A serious loss to our cause.

God rest his soul and give comfort to his family.

What a blow.

After Drudge bent over for Romney, I was getting my news from Breitbart. He had the only full pair of nuts among news aggregators and journalists.

A Huge loss. I met him a few times and did some things with him. I can’t express how shocked I am.

Walking at midnight?! I hope the LA coroner has no relationship with Chicago.

Breitbart was walking near his house in the Brentwood neighborhood shortly after midnight Thursday when he collapsed, said his father-in-law, Orson Bean.

Someone saw him fall and called paramedics, who tried to revive him. They rushed him to the emergency room at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, Bean said.

Reminds me of how they were able to tell us within an hour that the plane crash in NYC in November 2001 was an “accident”.

This is terrible. He was a young guy. Wait til the commie networks tell this story. They’ll be giddy. Prayers to his family and his many, many friends.

I can't help but wonder if this had something to do with the videos on ObaMao he was scheduled to release. I hope one of his close associates has access to those videos and releases them at a proper time all the same.

I'm shocked that such a dynamo would make such an early exit and can't believe it was just a coincidence.

Shrug. Who knows. He could have been meeting a source, or the obvious, simply walking.

Please stop with the conspiracy theories. His father-in-law and the medical center would have to be a part of it.

He had a history of heart problems as his family and friends have said. He was doing a grueling book tour besides his other work.

Sure ... he could have had trouble sleeping, thought he had heartburn, needed fresh air, etc.

Or ...

Three years ago, Andrew very generously hosted a dinner to introduce me to some of the Hollywood conservatives. Adam Baldwin and Ben Shapiro were there, along with John Nolte. Andrew would have been performing a wonderful favor to me just by having us get together for a drink, but he personally sprang for a full steak dinner at a nice restaurant for all of us.

Next time I talked to him, he was organizing planeloads of relief for the tsunami victims.

Andrew did what few of us really ever want to do, namely aggressively confront the Left in their face. We have lost a tremendous leader, and I have lost a friend.

Breibart wasn't dumb. I'm sure there are several copies in numerous places....and I'm certain that Bean knows where the originals are.

Will Obama send regards to his family??

A neighbor saw him walking at midnight? Is walking at midnight a popular activity in Brentwood?

Was he walking to meet someone? Or was the neighbor walking with him?

On another thread - there was a statement that Breitbart only got 4 hours of sleep. Perhaps he was walking to clear his head?

Curious.
