Character is when you are the same way in public as you are in private.

I reject the idea that Newt’s sins are somehow worse because he wasn’t in office at the time. To some extent I think they are worse because there’s no punishment for straying off the reservation as there is if you are a public office holder.

Newt’s not a conservative as much as he is an egotist that doesn’t really care what he believes as long as it makes him look like the smartest guy in the room. If you do get him elected, you’ll discover that.

Santorum is not a great conservative either but at least he’s lived a life of strong character so when he takes a position, I expect it to be fairly consistent. I can’t say that about Newt or Mitt.

Except when he taking one for the “team”....see Right to work, Arlen Spector, subsidized BC, etc.”. Not sure I call that consistent.
