Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum labeled Rush Limbaugh "absurd" over disparaging remarks from the radio talk show host directed at a law student who testified before a House panel in support of access to contraceptives.
"He's being absurd, but that's you know, an entertainer can be absurd," Santorum told CNN's Wolf Blitzer on Friday. "He's in a very different business than I am."

He DID say something today like
“why should homosexuals be forced to pay for contraceptives for ‘breeders’”
This guy continues to have McCain moments, where he destroys himself with his own comments.
It’s very hard to defend a guy against himself.
“What is he supposed to do?”
We expect a reasoned response from someone, who would be POTUS. He, obviously, was hit with a “gotcha” question but we expect him to handle it with poise. And, if he can’t do that, then don’t talk to people like “Blitz.”

The CNN headline writer is trying to make it seem like Santorum is disparaging Rush. He wasn’t.
If this is the case, it's a losing strategy.
The part about her posting YouTube videos of her having to reimburse the taxpayers was an example of absurdity to demonstrate absurdity.

I happen to agree with Rush Limbaugh. It’s an apt term when you want people forced to pay to fund your sex life. However, this is not something that Santorum can come right out and agree with verbatim. No Republican politician can do this when running for office and expecting a chance to win. A Republican politician running for POTUS can’t call a voter a slut. Even if he did as you said, what would the headlines be? The headlines would go like this, “Santorum Agrees With Rush Limbaugh That Woman Is A Slut.” You know how the media works. If he did that, it would be spread throughout the blogosphere, and it would turn off a lot of people because people look at headlines and media spin instead of context. It would even be posted here by the group of Newt supporters who like to bash Santorum for every reason under the sun. They’d say he puts his foot in his mouth, is an extremist, is a turn off to woman voters, etc.
Calling her a slut will not help Rick. What he needs to do is contiue to do what he has been doing. That is, he needs to be a loud voice against the contraceptive mandate and the anti-Catholic bigotry it entails.
Not playing the gotcha game doesn’t mean he’s not on the conservative side. Santorum has been vehemently against the birth control mandate.
For the fair minded anyway.......
