Have noticed Nugent making appearances on Fox News more during the last few months...maybe Rove got to him.

I've read the entire thread, and the best thing I can say is to quote the words of our Founder last year when he said:

"Free Republic is a pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-small government, pro-constitution, pro-liberty site. Governor Romney is none of the above. His record is that of an abortionist, gay rights pushing, gun grabbing, global warming advocating, big government, mandate loving, constitution trampling, flip-flopping liberal progressive with no core values. That and the fact that he is the chief architect and advocate for ObamaCare disqualifies him for any consideration whatsoever on Free Republic as a potential nominee for the presidency."
~ Jim Robinson / 1 November 2011

So permit me to reiterate what I understand to be
the official FR policy regarding Romney and the
RomneyTrolls that keep popping up on this forum:

My plan as well. If Mittens gets the nod, I’m writing in Palin. Might as well give them fair warning what’s coming. There's more than four of us here in Mississippi alone!!

I still think Mitt will fail to get the nomination, but if he does, Sarah will get my write in vote. Heck, even if Sarah eventually endorses Mitt, I will ignore her suggestion and still write in her name.

My sister said that Sarah will be on Greta tonight. I hope that Sarah openly and fully endorses Newt tonight. Time is getting short.

I think we can use Uncle Ted's brain fart to our advantage.

Uncle Ted stepped in it about five hours ago. But he has about 55k followers so I Tweeted him a criticism about picking anti-gun Romney. I put #EFAD @MattBracken48 #NRA a few other pro-gun #hashtags and these URLs in it...

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004JF4L98 (Amazon link for #EFAD)

http://www.enemiesforeignanddomestic.com/efadGG.htm ("Gangster Government, And Sakharov's Immunity")

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbGbKbGZsGY (Newt's address to NRA on Youtube)

I may still not understand Twitter very well but I see big potential in Tweeting and re-Tweeting on Nugent's tweet about endorsing Mutt. Oops! just checked back and he's down to 43k followers from a few minutes ago. Hit him before he loses all his followers for his stupidity. lol

Polls at this point are worthless. McCain led Obama until the bailout. Romney's problem is lack of any blue collar appeal whatsoever.

That’s the truth. NOTHING should surprise us these days. The evil one is blinding eyes in both parties so he has destruction for the USA regardless of which party wins (If Mitt is the nominee).

Scales on eyes.

No, I don’t.

I think he’s just as bad on the big government issue, just for different purposes.

Romney wants big government to pad the wallets of favored businesses. Whereas Santorum would like to use it to force his ideals on morality on us. (Fortunately, they are normal ideals on morality, though. The issue of governmental force to make people conform, however, is an anathema to everything this country was founded on.)

Liberals force their immorality on us and our kids and makes us pay for it.

Is undoing that is just as bad?

Let me get this straight. You imagine that the king of the GOP-E is an outsider? I guess you have a different idea of what outsider means than some of the rest of us do.

But it is interesting that you use the word 'outsider' as if Mitt wasn't a member of the GOP elite establishment. It is the same lying description Mittens himself is trying to use in his talking points. Looks like you have swallowed what he's selling hook, line and sinker.

It would be refreshing to have an outsider come in for a change.

Yes and when a real outsider like Sarah Palin (not a flimflam phony like Romney) gets in there, all of the GOP-E will be shaking in their boots when the change comes.

Listen....I love Newt but he’s not going to be the nominee.....Do you think if Santorum got the nominee he would win????? There are too many people in this country that hate what he stands for, so I do think he has a chance......Do you?????

Listen ... defense is a losing strategy for a reason perfectly illustrated in your rationale for supporting Romney. Defense -- voting against Obama -- is how you justify voting FOR Romney, and even if you win, you lose. The price of voting "against" is that you're equally voting "for" something. It's like physics.

What's the Marine code? God, Country, Corps, Unit.? Not sure, but I do know for sure God comes first. For political expediency, you would vote FOR an agent of depravity (taxpayer subsidised $50 abortions on demand, Gay Youth Pride for kids as young as 12) such as Romney -- KNOWINGLY -- in a country you expect God to bless?

My vote goes elsewhere, Brother or Sister Freeper -- I know a sure-loser strategy when I see it, and it's as much a matter of physics as it is of morality. Evil begets evil -- playing defense loses and that's why.

Godspeed Newt Gingrich.

The problem is that what you consider immoral, the left considers just and righteous. And vice versa.

So, if you have the government *FORCING* what you consider immorality, you *WILL* fight to the death to stop it.

And the left *WILL* do so just as much as we will.

The only way for a nation such as ours to thrive is to recognize that, just like our founding fathers did. Which is to get the government the heck out it.

The upshot is that regardless of left or right, the government needs to butt out.

And Santorum most patently does *NOT* believe it that concept. Just compare the two quotes below to see the difference (heck, the last bit sounds *EXACTLY* like Hillary Clinton with her 'It takes a village' cr@p):

Santorum:
“This whole idea of personal autonomy, well I don’t think most conservatives hold that point of view. Some do. They have this idea that people should be left alone, be able to do whatever they want to do, government should keep our taxes down and keep our regulations low, that we shouldn’t get involved in the bedroom, we shouldn’t get involved in cultural issues. You know, people should do whatever they want. Well, that is not how traditional conservatives view the world and I think most conservatives understand that individuals can’t go it alone.”

Reagan:
"I'm convinced that today the majority of Americans want what those first Americans wanted: A better life for themselves and their children; a minimum of government authority. Very simply, they want to be left alone in peace and safety to take care of the family by earning an honest dollar and putting away some savings. This may not sound too exciting, but there is something magnificent about it. On the farm, on the street corner, in the factory and in the kitchen, millions of us ask nothing more, but certainly nothing less than to live our own lives according to our values — at peace with ourselves, our neighbors and the world.

As usual I’m late to the party but I’m with you on this last.

We only get to vote (legally) in one primary or caucus, then the general. I think we should duke this one all the way out; my vote(s) would be for the best equipped and best-visioned Patriot Conservative in those selections.

When SP didn’t run we were left with some lesser alternatives, but I’ll always take the best according to the above rather than the most likely to win during primary season.

Slays me that some strategists and persons of influence abandon that (Ted Nugent today?) in order to win a majority.

Defeats the purpose of primaries, IMHO.

I’d rather lose and have principle- when it comes to the general it gets more complicated but we’re not there yet!
