Russia's defence ministry signed a deal for 92 Sukhoi Su-34 "Fullback" strike aircraft on 1 March, marking the biggest deal for a single aircraft type for the nation's air force in more than 20 years.
To cover deliveries until 2020, the deal was signed by defence minister Anatoly Serdyukov and Sukhoi general director Igor Ozar. The Su-34s will replace all the Su-24 bombers in service, Serdyukov said. A source quoted by Russias Interfax news agency put the value of the deal at around 100 billion roubles ($3 billion).
The defence ministry had previously said 70 Su-34s would be delivered by 2015. Six aircraft are in service at Russia's test and evaluation centre at Lipetsk, with a further 10 due to be delivered this year.

These are being Russia-built? Rotsa Ruck Putin.
The SU-34s, to be built at Sukhoi’s Novosibirsk plant in southern Siberia

How well they work, does anybody in the West know?
What is a yitbos? I’m driven to curiousity.
Better than the ChiCom copies of Su-24.

Essentially, the Su-34 is to the Su-27 what the F-15E Strike Eagle is to the normal F-15, but the Su-34 has a lot more modifications to make it a dedicated ground attack platform.
should show up nicely on radar. Raptor bait!
They still have their version of the F-111 but we retired ours.
America weakening since Bush41
I'm pretty sure the first five letters stand for yours in the best of ..."
That works out to about $32 million each. A far cry from our costs. Does nearly 10 times the cost buy 10 times the ability?
What is that thing sticking out the back? Looks like some kind of engine prolapse.
I have seen the same stories printed two or three times, Have you forgotten about that?
Thing sticking out of the back is container for brake parachute used during landing. Others SU have it.
Never heard. What is its name? Soviet designers considered stealth planes too costly and having very limited and dubious usefulnes. SU/Russia had no actual need in them for last 50 years.
Plane on the photo looks evidently supermanouverable like SU-27 while SU 24 is front bomber as A-10. SU-34 is medium range bomber AFAIK and does not need supermanouverability.
Really? I thought it was some kind of backward looking radar.
