Saturday night on Fox News, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee will be holding a third installment of his forum series, this time on the topic of unemployment. The forum will only be broadcast on Fox News television, it will not be streamed online. Ron Paul was invited to attend as well, however, he requested to be present via satellite and this request was denied by the Huckabee forum producers. See this report on Ron Paul's absence. Paul will be campaigning in Washington state for the caucus happening in the morning prior to the forum Saturday evening.

Air Date: Saturday, March 3 at 8pm ET on Fox News

Speaking of grassroots...

I’ve been thinking (haha) but we need a quick bullet point short and sweet flyer that delivers a strong message.

The Gingrich site has his plan but I worry the 21st century contract isn’t quick enough to deliver his killer message.

It is a reasonable deal— 50-for 5 bucks. I would carry that in addition to.

Also, his remodeled website now annoys me. It has that blocker page. I also think he should have his merchandise an easy-find click from EVERY page.

It now takes at least 2 clicks to even get close to finding his gear. The problem... you must HUNT the gear now. That is BAD!

I am pretty shy but I have been kicking around sucking it up and going door-to-door and to businesses to try and spread the word.

Thanks. Do you recall Gov.Perry’s words?

RICK PERRY: “Now, I have no doubt Mitt Romney was worried about pink slips — whether he was going to have enough of them to hand out because his company, Bain Capital, of all the jobs that they killed. I’m sure he was worried that he would run out of pink slips.” [1/9/12]

My granny was a shorty, too! She had a 3rd grade education, 6 kids and a husband that ran off. Most brilliant, beautiful woman ever. Tough as nails!

Hopefully our grandmothers have hooked up for a cup of tea. :)

Cheers to Hattie! and Bertha!

Rick does not talk straight, by the time he is done with an answer, I swear I have forgotten the question. He talks in circles, does not finish points, changes topics in mid sentence and I really do not have a clue what he just said. If a person has to continually overtalk and oversell their point, that typically means they are not being honest. No to Santorum, there is too much at stake.

Irenic, I am just starting to pull these notes together tonight for a sticky note gas and grocery campaign... but, if you want to get started asap, here is the bulk of the text information I’m going to be working with... I have some other stufffor home meetings, copy and past flyers, etc, if you need...

This is a great and fairly inexpensive way to get Newt’s message across. Walmart has packs of Avery business cards for less than $5. Print ‘em up, and just leave ...’em around! I’ll be adding more “backs” ASAP.

Go to http://www.avery.com/avery/en_us/

Login as llhult@yahoo.com

Password Newt2012

In the upper right-hand corner, click on “My Avery”Next click on “My design and print online projects” in the left-hand column

Then scroll down to “My saved projects” and click on either LeadershipNow or LeadershipNowFront

Over in the Newt2012 War Room we have several docs with the labels. Use that account that I created, click on the “my avery” link on the top right of the page - then go to the left and click on “My saved projects” and scroll to the bottom of the page. there are 6 separate labels saved which if you click “apply” you can enter the number of the avery label, or card, that you want to use and print that label on the one you want.

FYI, when you enter the account info the first time, it may tell you incorrect password. Ignore it and look for that my avery link on the top right hand corner of the page.

Create your own phone banks by logging into newtsnetwork.com at McDonalds, StarBucks, Pizza Hut, etc.....it’s fun to make calls with others, make a party out of it!! Coffee party, Burger party, Pizza Party!

From Newt 2012: friday

Field and Phone Leaders, CALLING ALL HANDS ON DECK!!

Our national phone team has successfully called through the original 18,000 volunteer sign-ups. This has resulted in a refined list of volunteer prospects for all 50 states. In 3 weeks our national call team has increased by 300%, or 50 new people per week.

Our increased call capacity will help us now begin to make calls into “Super Tuesday” states or those close by that can assist and or deploy to active states.

... YOU CAN NOW CHOOSE THE STATE THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO CALL

http://newtsnetwork.com/ (click Make the CAll in upper right hand corner)

NOTE: The list filters itself by time zones. It will not show you California at 10am Eastern Time because that is 7am Pacific Time and too early to call there. Once a state’s call list opens up the state name will be added to the dropdown list for you to call. (And in the reverse, Eastern Time Zones will be removed from the list as the night wears on.)

This new reality will enable us to be highly flexible in how we operate and target prospects for GOTV and or volunteer recruitment.

Please disseminate this information to your call teams and volunteer lists.
Thank you

NEWT’S SUNDAY SCHEDULE THIS WEEKEND:

CNN, State of the Union, 9:00am ET;
C-SPAN Washington Journal; 9:30Am
NBC- Meet the Press
ABC- This Week
CBS- Face the Nation

HAVE A GREAT NEWT WEEKEND!!!!

Although in reality, it doesn’t matter who I’d support. I live in PA and it will be a done deal by then.

That is the way I feel. Texas is May 29th now? Something must change—why can a few states determine a candidate for all of us?!

It also helps divide us against ourselves.

Fair enough, we all have our reasons for how we vote. My beef is with personal attacks and name-calling, not reasoned arguments.

But does any of it make any difference anymore? I swear we should just auction the damn nomination off next time and save the voters all this grief. Same result whether we do it outright or pretend we’re still a free country and that our vote matters one way or the other.

A pre planned ad : The Huck Forum, and FR for Romney and Newt.

I'm at a loss. I've been on here a while, and the tearing down of Santorum has amazed me. The media, conservative, liberal, Rove and Morris have been after him. It would rattle any candidate. And now you'll hear in this forum that Santorum brings it on himself. Well, there's no way I will believe it, Romney and Newt have been no better, between Newt's divorces, lack of zeal, and Romney's rehearsed child-like speeches the two are alike. Maybe Santorum has more experience in the Senate getting things accomplished. Romney is going to look like a fool debating Obama.

I think what troubles you isn’t a majority but a few.

If you are honest you will admit there are a few that support Santorum with nary a good word for the man, they exist only to pitch slime against Gingrich.

Excuse me here in being brash but in my mind I think—there hir is again, getting a political boner—just looking for a scrap.

I can’t hang with the defeatests either.

I expect after tonight that NEWT will see a big bump after that forum appearance.

He is calm, confident and authoritative on solutions. People need comfort.

Newt has made 3 times the appearances in Ohio with firms there than the other candidates.

There will be a surprise.

The media is talking him down by not mentioning him, when actually there is a spark ignited and they either are missing it or see it and want to end this before it catches fire.

I guess for me it is too important to just leave something for somebody to read.

I don’t know the statistics but after a paragraph it seems most people are done.

If you can feel a person out and try to talk to them— I believe people will listen more than they will read.

I think having ready answers and a good pitch is the best direction.

Gingrich is a good and I wouldn’t feel bashful at all trying to make that sale.

I just need a good framework for it. I’m a worker-bee not a leader. :p

Rick reminds me of a kid in our school. He NEVER did his home work...read the material...But if he got a chance to answer a question he could BS for half the class period on absolutely nothing.....He’s a lawyer now.

so I think you are saying you want to knock on a door, hand them something, yet undefined, and then start a chat with them about Newt... and have enuf info at your fingertips to answer most of their questions, which is pretty much what I do... either door to door, or through the phones.

So then what should the handout be? You know your state, your town, your neighborhood, what would speak to them most strongly about Newt? One subject, two, three? some people take their laptops with a favorite newt video loaded, and just stand there while the person watches the video, maybe about 3 min, there are millions to choose from... and a vid can really be effective..

I think if it is lively you can get most people through three short paragraphs... but it has to be bright and easy-to-read... Newt has changed the campaign to his 2.50 gas branding, and a lot of people are attributing that to his rise in the national polls starting again...

a phone script sounds like it might be good for you... you get to pick your state, you get a script, and little by little, after maybe the first couple days, you get some confidence and start adlibbing, and your personality starts to shine through. There were 150,000 phone bank calls made in to SC... and Newt felt strongly they were game changers of a sort...

Maybe these few thoughts will be a jumping off point for you... and you can move ahead on your own, or if you need anything from me, please don’t hesitate...

Yes and you are brave.

I don't have a laptop, I wish I did. I have a kindle. ha! What do I want to say? What is most important? I suppose being prepared for the answers to a pushed and warped portrait of Gingrich. I think I am ready on the moon carp, I am ready on the personal baggage line, I am ready on not serving his county line. I need a better and comfortable spot to refute the house charges. He was found innocent but I don't have a much better come-back than that

I think if it is lively you can get most people through three short paragraphs... but it has to be bright and easy-to-read... Newt has changed the campaign to his 2.50 gas branding, and a lot of people are attributing that to his rise in the national polls starting again...

That is the problem, we can't just drop off a flyer, we need to engage folk. I think his 2.50 gas message is fantastic and resonates. His gear is a pain to find. It shouldn't be. I want him to win more than anything.

I tried a couple of times to go to the link you provided and it gave me a 4oh4 and I couldn't find a phone bank volunteer link on Gingrich page.

Maybe these few thoughts will be a jumping off point for you... and you can move ahead on your own, or if you need anything from me, please don’t hesitate...

I follow your posts and admire your work and thoughts. I hope you don't take my feedback as negative because I want more than anything for Gingrich to be president. We deserve nothing less--he is the best.
