WASHINGTON (AP) — The Department of Homeland Security is finalizing its plan for a biometric data system to track when immigrants leave the United States and will present it to Congress within “weeks,” a top department official told a House Homeland Security subcommittee Tuesday.
An exit system to track who is leaving the country and when has been sought since before the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

One of the big problems with our immigration system is the many people who come on educational or tourist visas (usually from ME or African hell-holes) and then just disappear into the “community.” Heck, half of Obama’s relatives fall into this category.

They already have that. Many of our current illegals are actually not Mexicans, but people from more exotic places who arrived here on temporary legal permits and simply never left. Then, of course, if you’re an African related to Obama (such as his auntie) you go before a judge and he tells you that all is forgiven and you can stay.
I’m not sure what’s happening with Obama’s drunk-driving uncle at the moment. But he’s been living here illegally for many years, and collecting benefits (just like auntie) and only got caught because of his drunk driving arrest.
The Democrats will love it. They can use it to find them and bring them back.
Immigrants leaving, hell, they’d better start tracking U.S. citizens ‘cause if obama gets re-elected I can see a mass exodus of Americans...

Once they start tracking us as we leave, then they will start to decide who can leave. I am not looking forward to that day. Like gun control, they try to implement these restrictions slowly and incrementally. Before long, the water starts to feel pretty warm, but then it's too late.
With this administration I expect this to do nothing that it claims to do.
I expect it to track legal residents only.
That would be fully in keeping with this admin.
Will Wade Rathke or Bertha Lewis be heading this up as new Czar?

Same as was done in Germany 1938-39 just before WW2 started. No exit visas will be approved for us undesirables.
Who knows.
But expect the least qualified, most compromised person to be chosen by Barry BigEars to do the job.
I have been to probably 50-60 countries and the US is the only country I know of that doesn’t track visa overstayers or makes you go through an exit process when you leave the country.
Hell, most countries tax you when you leave the country to pay for their airports and such.
People who think this is Big Brother are out of their minds.
If you are a US citizen, you get tracked more than the foreigners already.
Every US passport is tracked regardless if you go through the border control or not, at least in the airports and land ports.
At airports, your US passport is checked at the gate and run through DHS watch lists, even if you don’t go through a formal government checkpoint.

What does tracking visas of foreigners at the airport have to do with Americans?
You seem to forget that half the 9/11 hijackers were illegals who overstayed their visas.
40% of all illegals in this country are people who have overstayed their visas.
You seriously believe that is what this administration is going to do?
Recall Janet Napolitano telling us that terrorists are not the muslims screaming allah ackbar, but are instead soldiers and people who expect government to be held to the Constitution?
