Gingrich wins Georgia, predicts 3rd comeback

ATLANTA — Newt Gingrich won the Georgia primary Tuesday, ending a weeks-long drought in the Republican presidential race for the former House speaker who quickly tried to capitalize by looking to upcoming Southern primaries.

Far behind in the Republican presidential delegate hunt, Gingrich campaigned in Alabama even before the polls closed in Georgia, and predicted his neighboring state would mark a third resurgence for his up-and-down campaign.

In visiting Huntsville, he also sought to get GOP voters to look beyond Super Tuesday, with Gingrich only assured one of the 10 states voting.

"For the third time, we're going to come bouncing back," Gingrich told the raucous Huntsville crowd. "With your help by the end of next week, we could really be in a totally new race."

And the former college professor, mocked by his rivals for far-flung ideas, doubled down by calling for renewed commitment to space exploration, at one of the nation's monuments to the space program.

"This is the launching pad for the next phase of excitement and invention," Gingrich said in the museum of the U.S. Space and Rocket Center.

He was referring to the space program, but may as well have been referring to his up-and-down campaign.

"This is the country of the future," he told more than 300 standing in the shadow of an enormous Apollo rocket. "That's what a Gingrich campaign is all about, that we can unleash the American people and they can rebuild the country we love."

Gingrich was counting on a big win in the primary Tuesday in Georgia, part of which he represented for decades in Congress, and predicted better-than-expected finishes in Tennessee and Oklahoma in the 10-state series of super Tuesday contests.

But Gingrich was in Alabama, signaling his intention to stay in the race.

We ARE heading for Romney and it is a sad day for this country. I am not voting for Ricky either. Newt is the only one that could have beaten Obama. Looks like we’re stuck with Obama - I am going to be turning off all media except FR soon (not that I watch TV anyway, it’s sickening).

No, you are an insulting piece of crap. I actually don’t give a hoot for whom you support.

You post like a damn lib.

I am sure you are a Troll and it will only be a matter of time before the mods come to the same conclusion.

“I will bash anyone who is a corrupt Washington insider that has zero chance of beating zero.

Now take your spam and shove it.

"I’ve been saying Newt should drop out for weeks. Time for him to go back to Fannie Mae and hustle the tax payers some more."

Newt is my candidate. Who is yours so I can dump sh-t on them like you did Newt.

Hey retard

Santorum is using MYTH backer money to stay in the race and give the degenerate mormon a clear path to buying the nomination.

GOP is DEAD as in DOA if the bluebloods and country clubbers and their creepy pulled back wives suceed in installing the Bishop from KOLOB.

DEAD

Hey, guys... I'm a Santorum supporter. This is a Gingrich thread. It's turning into a bash contest, and there's no reason for that.

Can't we just congratulate Gingrich on his victory and move on? He's not the enemy tonight.

Let's all be glad that there's one more state that Mitt Romney didn't win. Whether we support Santorum or Gingrich, we all should be grateful that Romney lost.

Now let's just hope somebody other than Romney wins Ohio, Tennessee, and certain other key states tonight.

New folks are often looked at as possibly being trolls..
I’ve only been called one once though. I prefer Newt because I believe he has the intellectual ability to be very effective. Santorum doesn’t have baggage like he does but I don’t believe he will do well against o.

He is some sort of retread it seems, too scatter brained to have a theme, just constantly being a child like annoyance.

I am disappointed, I thought Gingrich would have done a bit better. He got Ga.— so I am happy about that!

I’m in unless Gingrich drops, then I won’t care until Nov and I vote against Obama.

Go Gingrich!!

Callista teared up tonight. :(

If he gets over 50% of the vote he will get 60 delegates. At least that’s the way I’m hearing it.
