Did threats silence media on Obama probe?

The lead investigator in Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s review of the authenticity of Barack Obama’s birth certificate today unloaded a bombshell about the case: that he was told by sources members of the media were threatened with federal investigations should they continue to report on the birth certificate issue.

Lead investigator Mike Zullo told WND that as he was preparing information to be presented to the public “it was clear that the mainstream media was not going to be in attendance” at the sheriff’s scheduled new conference, where he revealed facts suggesting both fraud and forgery in the image of a Hawaiian birth certificate that the White House released as “proof positive” of Obama’s eligibility for office last year.

“During our investigation, we actually were told [that media] had been threatened with FTC investigations. Commentators [had been] threatened with their jobs,” Zullo said. The threats were so intimidating that some individuals quit their positions over safety concerns for their families, he said.

So the problem became to get the information to the American public in spite of an intentional media blackout, since citizens still must make critical leadership decisions about their government through the election process.

He never recanted the story or anything; it’s all still there. He just didn’t push for interviews or try to publicize it because he wanted to protect his sources. When the story came out about Glenn Beck leaving Fox because Fox refused to provide protection for lower-level staffers I took it as a good sign, that maybe some of the witnesses were feeling more secure. I had hoped maybe they were able to be placed in a witness protection program and so the full story could come out.

Then Breitbart died and Rush got the equivalent of a horse’s head in his bed, the same day as Arpaio’s presser...

You are ignored because you have no respect for a large segment of freepers, as evidenced by your hateful, insulting remark saying you would spit on the U.S. Military. You were called on it by Jim Robinson and it is surprising you weren't banned.

Another thing, don't pretend it hasn't been noticed that you've used a lot of FR research, rewritten the information, placed it on your blog while claiming it as your own, and have the nerve to ask for donations.

Your boycott of me started long before that. It started in the middle of the night on Sept 23, 2010, while I was sleeping. I went to bed fine and the next morning when I tried to ping you for a post I had been working on you wouldn’t ping it then or ever since then (with the exception of once under pressure from somebody else that I never asked to say a thing to you). The last communication I had from you was something about being “friendly with trolls” and I better knock it off; kind of a veiled threat, but before I could even wake up to respond you had decided I had committed the unforgiveable, whatever it was.

I also apologized for that ONE comment profusely. It was said in anger (right after Lind’s decision on Lakin) over the military leadership which has sold the fighting men/women down the river. Normal people can forgive and move on, especially when the future of the country is at stake.

Nobody who knows me has any question about my love for the patriots in the US military. I have 3 nephews who are USMC. I have made a quilt for a wounded soldier (I can post a pic if you like, or if you think I’d be taking credit from somebody else I could show you the emails from the Maine Quilters Guild thanking me for sending that quilt. Or I could post a copy of the letter that I sent the recipient, explaining the different kinds of fabric I put into the quilt and why. It would make me uncomfortable to do that because it seems like tooting my own horn and I have no interest in doing that). I wear a friendship bracelet on my wrist at all times to remind me to pray for that soldier. If there are soldiers who are still mad about that comment I can grovel if they’d like, but most soldiers are too classy to even want that.

I have never asked for donations and as far as I know have never presented others’ findings as if they were my own. If somebody knows of a time when that happened I would be happy to correct it, as I did when I stated outright on my blog that I had nothing to do with the effort to get Virginia Sunahara’s birth certificate.

I incorporate information from other people into my thoughts, theories, and research all the time, and FR people are some of the best researchers around, so I guess if that’s a crime I’m guilty as charged. If somebody feels that I should have credited them I strongly encourage them to let me know and I will be happy to do so.

I am so thankful for the people here who have acted as part of a team and if I am EVER acting like a jerk I want to be told the specifics so I can stop it and make it right.

We’ve got a country to restore. We can’t afford friendly fire. The Gospel lesson this morning (from the One-Year Series, so I don’t know if it matches the Catholic pericopes) was Jesus’ response to accusations that he was casting out demons by the power of Beelzebub. That’s the part of Scripture where Jesus says “A kingdom divided against itself cannot stand.”

As always, I pray that the Lord would make my blunders wise and accomplish something in spite of me. The profession of my life is that I am a sinner for whom Jesus shed His redeeming blood, and that His grace is the only thing that keeps me standing. If nothing else, I hope people can see that the Lord can love even pathetic little people like me.

I have local guy here coming after Rush Limbo, on the same channel WIOD 610 AM, blocking my e-mails when I challenged him on these the same issue!!

Makes me remember here on my local talk radio channel...I have it on at my desk all day - local talkers until 8am, Beck, then Rush, then Hannity, then another local on from 4p to 7p.

That afternoon drive time local slot has been battered back and forth between a few local conservative talkers for years. One of the guys goes away for awhile, replaced by another no name. (Don't mean for this to get long) So new guy bombs and they bring the first guy back right about the time the BC fraud was almost getting publicly hot. Well, I thought I was in a dream...he talked passionately about what a fraud the BC was and how oBummer was not eligible, etc.

I don't know what day of the week he started but image how un-surprised I was when he came on Monday afternoon and the first time a caller brought up the subject he responded with the typical media/zombie response "This is a non issue...Let's attack Obama at the polls... This makes us look stupid...He showed his BC."

No one had to tell me what happened. Apparently you don't get the Soros' memos when you are sitting on the couch waiting for radio work.

Regardless, I guess he was so passionate during the week prior he only lasted the rest of that week and was replaced with the syndication airing of the annoying Todd Schnitt.
