When he unveiled the Derrick Bell video on Hannity last night, Breitbart.com's Joel Pollak labored to explain why the late professor was so offensive.
Derrick Bell got into serious trouble when he wrote an essay, a fictional story, called Space Traders, positing that Americans, white Americans would sell black Americans to space aliens in order to pay out the national debt and that Jews would stand by and let it happen. This is a kind of background Derrick Bell had. This is true. "Space Traders" was actually turned into a short film, as part of the 1994 black sci-fi anthology Cosmic Slop. Named after a Parliament/Fundadelic song, hosted by the disembodied head of George Clinton, the movie dramatized what would happen if aliens (the leader of whom looks and talks like Ronald Reagan) offered eternal prosperity in exchange for America's population of black people. Actually, I would pay space aliens to take Obama off our hands! That would do more to reduce the deficit that selling otherwise innocent black folks.
I read that story, a long time ago in college. What Bell and others don’t get, is that it is the Liberal/Statists who would sell all the black Americans to the aliens in exchange for all they offered.
True Conservatives believe in individual rights and that the state exists to preserve the rights of the individual, rather that in the individual existing to serve the good of the state, and would find such a deal abhorrent, and unconstitutional.
