You are a wealth of musical knowledge.    You ought to write a book!    (Or have you already?)   Are you familiar with the stories behind hymns and gospel songs too?

(Thanks for sharing your knowledge here.)

Don't Let the Sun Catch You Crying--Louis Jordan & His Tympany Five, 1946

This record isn't of the greatest quality, but it's the only recording of the original version of the Jordan opus that I could find on Youtube. Jordan, perhaps best known for rockers such as Saturday Night Fish Fry (1949) and Choo Choo, Ch'Boogie (1946) slows things down a bit here.

Aloha, Hawaii...sun today?

We have a volcano threatening to blow.

The explosion was at Cleveland Volcano, located on an uninhabited Aleutian island 940 miles southwest of Anchorage.

While the exact size of the ash cloud it produced is unknown, it was believed to be small, as was a cloud the resulted from a similar explosion at the volcano in December, said Steve McNutt, a University of Alaska Fairbanks seismologist who works at the Alaska Volcano Observatory.

That cloud rose to less than 20,000 feet, lower than the levels used by large commercial jets, McNutt said.

Yes, I happen to be a big fan of hymns and gospel songs as well--traditional ones; I don't care for the "praise music" of today. My father was a church choir director, and my mother sang in the Old Fashioned Revival Hour Chorus Choir, and since their broadcasts are now available online, her voice can still be heard by anyone in the world with an Internet connection. Among my music reference books are several hymnals.

I saw it last night, too. We have clouds, wind and much colder weather today/tonight.

I would dearly LOVE to see the Northern lights someday! I heard they were supposed to be spectacular with the new sun burst or whatever it was. LOL!
