Santorum: "I'd Like Everybody To Get Out"
YAHOO NEWS ^ | 5 hrs ago.. | Ben Terris

Rick Santorum needs about 60 percent of the remaining delegates to claim the Republican nomination. It would be an easier task, he admits, if former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich would drop out, but Santorum would not call explicitly for him to do so.

“The Speaker can stay as long as he wants,” Santorum said on NBC’s Meet the Press this morning. Instead, a Super PAC supporting Santorum has run ads calling for Gingrich to drop out of the race. (snip for excerpt purp.)

“We’re in a great position now as we go forward,” he said.

Of course, there would be an easy way for Santorum to really make up ground: “I’d like everybody to get out,” he said.

Plus, if a deal was made with Perry before Texas votes, it would be game over.

Newt needs Texas, but if Perry (who now supports Newt) realizes Newt can’t get the delegate count, he might do it.

A lot is riding on Tuesday.

That's true, But I personally think that Romney will take PA. Santorum really ticked off the masses there. Especially being a carpetbagger from Virginia, and lying about his “roots” in PA.

I don’t think “Santorum fanatics” is an apt description of what happened. I think it’s more accurate to say that the conservative electorate has a Huckabee Problem and that Santorum is just this cycle’s manifestation of that.

I don’t know how to take that, Freepy.

I’m definitely a Newt girl.

But you are correct, Santorum will jump at teaming up with his fellow RINO Romney and gladly accept a VP spot.

This was the original plan anyway which is why Santorum joined the race. He would have quit after SC or FL if things had gone according to plan and Newt had dropped out and Ron Paul had not gained any traction.

Santorum, like Romney, is part of the Karl Rove group.

Of course each would like all the others to get out. You, psycho-Freep, want Santorum to drop out. Yahoo is part of the enemy, but as long as they are trying to rip Santorum, they are good enough for you to post.

It’s crunch time. Newt and Santorum supporters have the choice: vote for your favorite and let the chips lie where they may. Or, vote in your state for the one most likely to crush Romney. Period.

I am fatigued of the infight on FR between Rick and newt. They are both conservatives. They are both flawed. So vote against mitt or vote your fave, but lay off the supporters of the other here.

Totally repeatedly rearranging like a flaming designer the deck chairs on the Romney titanic.

"A Romney/Santorum ticket would be a sure loser."

Romney will never be President, and a Romney/__________ anyone would be a sure loser. Of course.

You mean you don’t think Santo would jump at the VP slot with Gingrich?

LOL! Don't take offense in what I said, you are just naive in thinking that Obama is going to be easy to beat.

That is an absolute fantasy. I get around a lot, and see things, many here don't. The national picture is almost scary as to where the American public has gone!

In case you have not noticed, people are voting what they think and you seem to be in the 14% losing category.

Santorum would be an even bigger disaster if he wins the nomination. If it comes down to either Romney or Santorum, I will vote “None of the above”.

I know a lot about Barry Soetoro/BHO2 the public does not.

That baggage will be devastating when delivered by the right Republican candidate.

It takes courage to go after evil.

My spidey senses tell me there be a little left-wing wacko media spinning of the incident going on here.

Well, for starters, Psycho-freep changed the headline by adding an exclamation mark.

Santorum did say he'd like everyone to get out (that would make him the Repub. nominee, duh), but when asked specifically about Newt, Santorum walked very softly. In fact he would not fall for the bait and said it was up to Newt to decide what he was going to do going forward. (I actually watched the exchange this morning with David Gregory.)

That is funny, but will never happen, Perry is finished on the national ticket. He went out with 4% support.

Santorum is probably the most divisive candidate we have had since Barry Goldwater. Probably even more so, considering Santorum’s radical religious agenda.

Nominating him, will rile up the entire Leftist World and it will be a landslide for Obama.

?????? and lolol.
