Pravda asks: What happened to American media?
World Net Daily ^ | 3/10/12 | Chelsea Schilling

It’s a twist of irony: The Russian news website Pravda has published an accusation that the American media is “tame,” afraid to publish news and is “deliberately hiding the evidence published on the internet about [President Obama's] defrauding of the American public and the deliberate evisceration of the Constitution of the United States.”

In a March 7 Pravda column, “Arizona sheriff finds Obama presidential qualifications forged,” Dianna Cotter, a senior at American Military University, blasts America’s mainstream media for their virtual silence about Maricopa County, Ariz., Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s six-month investigation into the controversy surrounding Obama’s birth certificate and his constitutional eligibility for office.

“A singularly remarkable event has taken place in the United States of America,” Cotter wrote. “This event occurred in Arizona on March 1st and was an earth shattering revelation. … Yet, in the five days since [Arpaio's] revelations there has been little in the way of serious reporting on the findings he presented in his presser. With 6 short videos, the Sheriff and his team presented a devastating case, one the tame US press is apparently unable to report.”

Cotter recalls Obama April 27, 2011, press conference in which he “walked into the White House Press room with a Cheshire cat like grin and a ‘Long Form Birth Certificate’ from the State of Hawaii in hand.”

Speaking from the podium, Obama declared, “We’re not going to be able to solve our problems if we get distracted by sideshows and carnival barkers.”

Who among us who remembers the Cold War days would've thought we'd see a time when Pravda would be more credible than our media?

And yet ANOTHER reference to Pravda as an authority. No wonder the GOP is toying with Romney. We’ve become insane.

Pravda vs. American Media... We're talking about pretty fine distinctions here, tovarish.

Actually, Pravda is somewhat less stupid about overt bias than the US Lame Stream media.

But as I said.. it's a close run thing.

If it was a horse race, the windows wouldn't pay until I saw the photo finish. And verified it was authentic.

Soviet and American media. Making skeptics of children since the 1950s.

” - - - Obama declared, “We’re not going to be able to solve our problems if we get distracted by sideshows and carnival barkers.”

Since all Obama does is present sideshows, and speak like a carnival barker, I think that Obama is telling us that he does not want us “ - - - to be able to solve our problems.”

I've known. I haven't owned a telivision machine since Clinton.

If I want to be lied to, I can buy pay-me drinks near Osan, and the company is more pleasant, more polite, and more likely to deal with me in an honest manner.

Who among us who lived through the “Cold War” would have ever thought former Iron Curtain countries, even China almost, would have freer enterprise and a more business-friendly tax structure than the U.S. of A?

Not just the media, the whole gov’t is corrupt. They must be getting big buck$ to keep this under wraps even at the SCOTUS.

Something I've been stressing for some time now is that there really isn't any independent media, and hasn't been at least since 2008, or even going back even further. The difference now is that they don't even try to hide it. What many people still call the "main-stream media" is really nothing more than a ministry of propaganda. And I refer to it by that name, the "ministry of propaganda."

From the beginning of the Republic, there was a love/hate relationship between the government and the media, but it wasn't until Watergate and Nixon that the media was able to bring down an American President they hated. And they really liked that power. Soon they realized that they could not just report the actions of the government, but influence policy decisions. They actively worked to protect politicians whose policies they supported, and opposed pols whose policies and values they opposed, but in ways never seen before.

Finally, in 2008, they actually installed their own government into power. And "the media" effectively become both a tool of the government, as well as a 4th branch of the government.

This is not your father’s Pravda. Russia is part of the BRIC’s countries who are all trending more capitalistic because they have experienced socialism at first hand. We have yet to suffer the real pains of socialism so our liberals are happily marching towards it.

This is indicative of just how bad the American media has become as it has no journalistic weight.

Pravda calls our media a tool of the state, and actually has a valid argument and evidence to back it up. And people think I’m crazy when I say we’ll probably see the end of the world in our lifetimes!

I am not sure what Romney has to do with the article or your first point. Lately, Pravda has been more of an authority than our lapdog media—this is not first time Pravda has reported a story the US “press” would not report. Frankly, I have much more confidence in the veracity of Pravda than NBC and the other branches of the democratic campaigning press.

They’re gleefully flipping us off. After all those years as a communist swamp, listening to us tell them about our freedom of the press, now they’re getting to point out the obvious flaws with the partisan media over here. Communism aside, the Russians have their pride, and they’re happy to point out how the Cold War winners are collapsing - just like they did not such a long time ago.

I’ve thought about this recently.

The collapse of the USSR was a weird event for me. One day I walked into the Cascades with the Soviets there, big and burly, and when I got back to the car one week later, it was gone. Startling.

Sometimes I think the United States will go the same way. One week it’ll be here, the next week the states will be scrambling this way and that to create a new configuration for governance. I would hope that if this happens it occurs with the same lack of warfare that I witnessed in Russia, but who knows... as long as I’m on the side of the border reestablishing limited government, natural rights, and rule of law.

God help us.
