It’s hard to argue your point, but Newt certainly isn’t showing any sign that he can win anywhere, with or without Santorum.

I’ve known KJ for a long time, she’s so far above that kind of thing. You have no idea what you’re talking about.

Would I vote for Newt Gingrich over Obama in the General??

Heck, does sawdust taste terrible? Is Anarctica cold in the winter? Is the earth round?I just cannot see the reasoning of some people here with this "I won't vote for Santorum if he is the nominee and Newt is beaten by him." Just crazy. Damned crazy to be exact. Gotta get over losses. I got over Herman Cain being savaged unfairly and 24/7 by some on here and many in the US media. Do these people really want an ad infinitum US Supreme Court from 2013 onward that will be akin in all aspects to the Supreme Soviet Presidum and would probably order the US Constitution be removed from public display and destroyed, ruling The White House as the sole Federal executive and legislative power in the land?

No, young lady, you are emotioanlly invested in Newt. That’s fine and I understand it. But if he loses, by the popular vote of many conservatives across the country then you should get behind the candidate opposing Obama. Anything other than that is a vote for a communist pig...

I really, really like Newt. And he didn’t do badly tonight but he didn’t help himself either.

We need to stop bringing up crap about either or both of these candidates.

They would each be a thousand times better than Obama.

I wish they would make a deal soon and defeat Romney but I don’t think either of them is prepared to cede as yet.

But, maybe, a promise here, an appointment there ... didn’t Obama promise Hillary Secretary of State (and a fine one she has been).

>> Furthermore, the gloves will be off in the 2012 election.

I’m not so sure about that part; I *hope* you’re right, though. There is plenty of material to work with if someone has the will to do it.

He is right on social issues. Does not have a clue about anything else and does not argue social issues well. Anyway, he’s better than Mittens.

I support Newt because he actually advanced the conservative agenda and power structure when he was Speaker of the HOuse. Rick...supported the most stinkin Rino in the Congress! Spector. He was a Rino all the way. :(

I am a Newt fan but am ready to vote for anyone but Romney or Obama. I just hope that Rick and Newt can hold off from attacking each other and just stick to attacking moderates and Obama. Rick is a decent man and I would vote for him if he gets the nod. Romney? no way. I would rather eat raw sewage as to cast a vote for that RINO. I will leave that part of the ballot blank or stay home if its Rino-boy.

Whatever. Voting for Santorum has been helping Obama win a second term.

don't give up, and don't give in. It has nothing to do with math, with delegate count. It has to do with principles. Santorum is corrupt, and his self-righteousness, and gospel of good works abrogates the saving work of Jesus Christ.

At least someone is now admitting that the whole "delegate math" business was just another ruse.

You do understand that Newt Gingrich is a converted Catholic, and holds to the same religious beliefs and practices as Rick Santorum, right?

Thankfully and mercifully, it looks like Romney will come in third, but the fact remains, Romney can't win in the South! Brokered convention?

I am so happy about that I feel like dancing!!!

Ditto.

Same reason Newt endorsed Diddly Scuzzyflava in NY congressional elections.

I have been mostly a lurker for years but finally decided to start posting regularly, we’ll see how it goes, I may be too blunt to last very long LOL.

Believe it or not, the vast majority of voting Americans see Santorum as a religious zealot with nothing else to offer. Obama’s headed for a landslide. Nothing personal. Just the truth. But enjoy your night.

You've expressed my own sentiments perfectly in those lines. Out of respect for the Ricksters here I will not go into the specifics of his shortcomings, but he is a fatally flawed candidate.

Very true..Romney couldn’t close the deal, with all the money he threw into AL and MS he still couldn’t win..because people see him as a slick oil salesman. It would be great if Santorum and Gingrich could team up and knock Romney out..Romney should drop out, then at least I would have happy with the choices we have left, but you know the establishment will never allow that

I meant that as a sincere compliment. My comment about name calling was a reference to the atmosphere on here lately. It is truly refreshing to see someone principled enough to remain above that. It is getting difficult to even say nice things so others without being misread lately.

My apologies if it came across as sarcastic or mean.
