There are a bunch of us here who won't vote for either Romney or Santorum in the general election in Nov. They are not conservatives who believe in constitutionally limited government that operates with the consent of the governed and they are weak leaders who will not make a strong President.

And I am really aggravated by the way the Republican party machine and their media lackeys at FOXNEWS have shoved their choice down our throats. It's time to look at options for starting a 3rd party, if not in time for this election, then for the future.

Message to Myth: GET LOST!

That is the real message behind today’s primaries: NO MITT ROMNEY!

Good night, folks. My work here is finished for the day.

I couldn’t remember a vile post, so I went back and read it. What makes you use such “vile language” to describe his post?

In Alabama, Santorum is 11% ahead with moderates/liberals. Of course, he is way behind Romney. I’m guessing that his big lead in TEA Party support has nothing to do with it?

Head to desk-Santos is No prime time player.

We are in severe trouble-the religious right gave him the win/not the unity of conservatives. We Need Newt. The country needs Newt. Rush, Mark Levine won tonight. The Media won. Obama won. The other patriots are screwed. This is not right-this even feels wrong-Newt should be the conservative leader not this guy. The turnout was Down (hello)

I should have kept that green papers from months ago!

Great website as you can find just about any info regarding the election process in any state on it. Has historical data also. I keep it bookmarked and spend a lot of time researching data from it.

"My wife and I said we would vote for either Newt or Rick based upon the polls for Illinois. Newt is running far behind Rick, who is statistically tied with Romney here. It’s a no-brainer to vote for Santorum here, as a result."

As you can tell from my signature, I'm a Newt guy. But I think you're doing the exact right thing. I've said all along that I can list a hundred reasons why Newt would be a better president, but that I can live with Rick. He's a decent man and has for the most part, unlike Myth, run an honorable campaign.

I think it's pretty near time for us Newt peole - and I take a back seat to NO ONE in my admiration for the man - to rally behind the only candidate who appears able to defeat BO Light.

I apologize to the great Newt people here who've fought so tirelessly. I'll bet this hurts me as much as any of you. I've been a stalwart supporter of Gingrich for 25 years and was here defending him when it seemed he was so unpopular I might be banned for doing so. But the Fat Lady has sung. We have two enemies that must BOTH be defeated with equal urgency: Mitt Romney and Barack Obama. The only path to doing that now is via Rick Santorum.

Mississippi called for Santorum, great night!

They did? Wow! Rick had a phenomenal night. Good for him. I wish everyone on FR would at least be glad that Rick beat the pants off Romney. When Newt won SC and GA, I was glad for him. I just don't understand the hatred for such a good conservative Christian man. It makes no sense. At least voters are seeing what the Santorum supporters see.

Something’s gotta give.

Romney is the weakest front runner, EVER!

He can’t win in the South and that’s a fact!

Newt Gingrich gave it his best shot, but this primary has been all about stopping Newt and it’s worked.

He has delegates, so maybe, just maybe, we’ll get a brokered convention.

Romney had the ground game and all the endorsements here in Mississippi and yet....LOL.

Rick Santorum may not be a rock-solid conservative, but to equate him with Willard Romney the open socialist, father of U.S. socialized medicine, is completely illogical. He’s more like Pat Toomey: understated, not necessarily exciting, and about as good as you’re going to get from an establishment state like PA. Am I happy with Toomey? Not necessarily. Am I glad he beat Joe Sestak? You bet.

If Santorum was the GOP nominee, I’d vote for him as long as he didn’t pick a RINO for VP.

“Sorry Newt didn’t get through the pile of garbage poured on him.”

Nor “Operation Hilarity”.

The "Cheerful One" has experienced a setback that may be insurmountable. Rick's way better than the Mittster.

Well you know, GWB was a bit too liberal for my taste but I believe him when he speaks (whether I agree or not) and I believe that in his heart he is a good man. I can’t say the same for Romney or Rick, I just can’t. There’s something not right there.

The Gingrich people are looking rather silly and sour grapes-ey at the moment. I'm with you and would be fine with Newt, but we have to beat Romney. Obama can be beaten by a ham sandwich. Rick Santorum has shown himself to be the better candidate. With his paltry resources, he should not have gotten this far. This is the hand of God on David against the Romney-Golaith-establishment machine.

C'mon, people! This is a happy night even you weren't for Rick. Romney is in THIRD PLACE in both states! We (Newt and Rick people aka conservatives) did it! No... The good Lord above did it... Praise Him!
