Gingrich Is in No Hurry to Bow Out [Gingrich has "grand ambitions"]

March 13, 2012 Gingrich Is in No Hurry to Bow Out Even After Falling Short of Double Wins in Deep South, Former Speaker Still Sees a Way to Push Fight to the Convention

By JANET HOOK and DANNY YADRON

BILOXI, Miss.—Even as pressure mounts on Newt Gingrich to drop out of the Republican presidential contest, the former House speaker is preparing to stick it out—with a new short-term goal of keeping Mitt Romney from securing the nomination.

Mr. Gingrich faced crucial primary tests Tuesday in Alabama and Mississippi, states where he campaigned hard to jump-start his flagging campaign. He lost both to former Sen. Rick Santorum, though he appeared on track to finish a respectable second in both. Even if he had realized his dream of winning both, though, some Republican officials doubt that would have generated enough momentum to win the nomination.

Still, Mr. Gingrich and his advisers say he isn't going anywhere. In a concession speech, Mr. Gingrich was gracious to Mr. Santorum, while calling the results an indictment of Mr. Romney, widely seen as the front-runner. "I believe that after the primaries are over it will be obvious the so-called front-runner in fact didn't get there, and from that point we will be in a whole different conversation," Mr. Gingrich said.

As those remarks suggest, Mr. Gingrich and his campaign have embraced a new goal, which is to block Mr. Romney. "He believes the long haul is to get enough delegates to stop Romney from getting the nomination before the convention," said campaign chairman Bob Walker, a former congressman. "If Romney is stopped, I don't think he gets the nomination at the convention."

The primaries process is completely corrupted - the dice are loaded.
By allowing democrats to vote in a republican primary, the RNC killed it.
Without the democrats’ votes, Santorum would have never won in Alabama and Mississippi.
All the polls showed him at the third place. Obama wants to impose his adversary by proxy.
The system is putrid and the GOP is totally responsible for the fiasco.
Republican voters are deprived of their right to choose their candidate.

You are correcct about Santorum riding on the wave created by taking out Newt....the media had a forum last Sunday about this and they said Santorum could not have done it without them lifting him up and moving him along after Newt was defeated.

But in the media doing so it brought the recognition to Santorum the Dobson groups, and also evangelical communities far right....wanted to see....a candidate who was able to focus on social issues from a religious perspective....and they got on the Santorum band wagon....much the same way as with Carter.

Unfortunately “sheep” are easily mis-led.

“God uses the good ones and the bad ones use God.”

I'm going to save that and I always loved Jimmy Stewart, (realizing he didn't write the line).

Thank you so much, sweetest you, b9!!

I’m with you guys, and with Newt. All the way.

Yes! Nobody will ever be able to say Newt hasn't played this game hard and well....and this with a host of enemies opposing him as no other candidate.

Santorum has yet to have the "machines" come against him...and it won't take much because he is a lightweight...needs far more grooming to become more than he is...and he tends to fight that.

These are the facts that the Santorum fanatics are completely, voluntarily ignorant about.

There is a very good reason that Newt won't drop out and hand all of his support to Santorum. He not only knows Santorum well, he clearly understands that his vision to force a brokered convention would go out the door.

Even more prominent, is the fact that Newt knows EXACTLY what will happen if (And remotely so) Santorum gets the nomination, how it will play out against Obama.

The man is not arrogant or stupid as the Santorum fans claim. Newt simply loves his country enough to try to save us from ourselves and he is willing to endure incredible adversity, if that is what it takes to change the course of this misguided direction it is currently in.

Believe me caww, from what I’ve seen and read Democrats, and the left in general are ecstatic about Santorum’s wins. They believe he fires up their base, many of whom were not really engaged because of dissatisfaction with Obama.

But this FReeper was FOR Santorum, and it certainly wasn’t true believer forever!
He was bragging that that is all it took to send Santorum into orbit.

Oh, dear Lord. A zombie, huh? Sick-ken-ning. Maybe RitaOK will recall THAT one.

That's too bizarre for me to digest right now...lol.

I’m sick over this.

I have to eat something to calm my stomach, if that’s possible.

Of course she was the doctor’s mistress. Lived in his house, on his money. He took her abroad on expensive travels, bought her a piano and paid for her lessons, clothes and food. Most of his money came from abortions and Karen knew it and didn’t care. I guess she was much less Catholic then *grin*

Well, she was poor, he had money, that fills the 42 years difference in age .

When Rick met her, he knew all about her relation with the abortionist, and didn’t care either; I guess he wasn’t such a staunch Catholic at the time either.

As for the marriage to be intact, I don’t know and I don’t care. What gets on my nerves is Rick throwing it in our faces at each occasion.

I noticed that both on super Tuesday and last night, Newt’s site was taken down, and I suspect Romney’s goon hackers doing it.

Believe me caww, from what I’ve seen and read Democrats, and......' the left in general are ecstatic about Santorum’s wins'...... They believe he fires up their base, many of whom were not really engaged because of dissatisfaction with Obama.

That's exactly right....liberals will vote who might not have bothered in the Demos. party because they aren't about to swallow Santorum's positions on social issues which offend their ideology greatly.

Newt on the other hand appeals to those who love their country and believe it was founded on Godly principles within our very Constitution and Declaration of independence....not to mention the many lives which were sacrificed for it's freedom. ......

Newt is determined to give this country back to God by reminding people that without the banner we wave...."One Nation Under God"....it's doomed... as all nations who trun their back on God. But he will not wave his own banner of religions right or wrong to get us there as Santorum is doing.

"You joined FR in 1998. Kazan joined in 2011. And you’re censoring yourself because the newbie doesn’t like your posts. C’mon, Frank. That doesn’t even make any sense."

samtheman, you are absolutely right, of course. I did not check the dates and my knee-jerk reaction to this newbie jerk was a 2am, half-asleep response, which I totally withdraw.

After sleeping on the situation, I'm pretty this newbie is an obamabot/romneybot (same difference), schooled in the practice of attacking those with that don't support his position. He may even be a troll from DU...it wouldn't surprise me at all.

Therefore I have decided that I shall continue my quest to shine the spotlight on the truth - as I see it - via both my text, and my graphics.

I’m offended at your use of the term “commie atheist”.

What we’re talking about here is a bisexual crack-smoking commie atheist and you know it.

Next time get it right. :)

But teacher, how do we know he’s bisexual? I mean, I realize one of his children looks like him, but does that one time with a woman really make him bisexual? Couldn’t he have bit the bullet, but still be gay? ;)

"Of course she was the doctor's mistress."

From Merriam-Webster:

mistress (n): a woman other than his wife with whom a married man has a continuing sexual relationship

The doctor was divorced and not married for the duration of his relationship with Miss Garver.

Santorum admits he was pro-choice until he started to explore running for congress.

There is no pure conservative in this race. However, claiming Santorum's wife was the mistress of, or had an affair with, a doctor suggests she had a relationship with the doctor while the doctor was married or while she was married. This is deceptive.

I personally don't like Rick Sanctimonious--I mean Santorum. I voted for Ginrich. But I cannot stand debating irrelevant past personal relationships of spouses before they married the candidate.
