You think Romeny will win over Obama? I don’t and I would MUCH rather have Santorum than Romeny. Sure I voted for Newt in Florida but that was ages ago in political time and now NEWT has no chance in hell and is splitting the conservative vote. Time for him to step aside and perhaps take on a VP role for Santorum. Newt is stubborn and his ego won’t let him see reality as he thinks he is the best candidate to beat Obama but he has to beat Romeny first and he has no chance in hell in getting 1140 delegates, and the longer he stays in the race the more he screws it up for Santorum so I almost have to wonder if he is doing this on purpose as Newt isn’t the most conservative guy when you look at him and he more resembles the establishment Republican which is more similar to Romeny.

PS - I agree with you (and NO, I don’t support Mittens - it’s just a fact that he’d have a better chance against BHO than Santorum, which isn’t saying much). Neither MR nor RS can beat BHO - Newt could.
I listened again to my hero Breitbart’s speech at CPAC and he was right as usual. He said we really need to vote for whoever ends up running against BHO because he’s that frightening for our country (I’m paraphrasing somewhat), and I will. Maybe if more of us had voted against b. hussein in ‘08, he would’ve lost, but SO many decided to “sit it out” on principle.
I’m just saying that (IMO) neither MR nor RS can beat the Wan, but he has to be stopped. If there weren’t a massive media/establishment shut-out of Newt, and millions more could hear him, he’d defeat Obama and save the Republic with our support.
Obama will not be able to destroy Santorum. They are polar opposites. Those who think Obama’s so great and so clever will not be voting for ANY R. Certainly not Rick or Gingrich.

I think what we’re seeing is that the “conservative base” isn’t that conservative. Romney and Santorum are identical except for Santorum’s so-called “social conservatism.” They’re both big-government, nanny-staters, who in their own way are little different from Obama.
Gingrich is the only one who is offering a different and truly conservative vision. If the “base” doesn’t want it, I’d say that’s because over the last few years, the “base” has been moving away from the individualism, self-reliance and entrepreneurialism that we associate with conservative thought and simply accepting the socialist welfare-state as the default model. Perhaps Obama’s biggest triumph, with his virtually unopposed dictatorial actions and his only slightly opposed imposition of government in every part of our lives, was to reveal that Americans have lost whatever it was that made us different.
All we want now is our place at the welfare state trough, freedoms be damned.

The media has been out for Newt since SC, they know Newt is a threat thus they attack him and channels like FOX have done the most damage but the problem with these establishment idiots is that they have let a guy in with the attitude of take one for the team .

We have to win all the McLame states from 08. (easy I think - Santorum is way more appealing than McLame)
Flip Indiana (I've got that covered - it's a lock with very popular Mike Pence on the ticket for Gov).
Then comes flipping Ohio and Florida (definite maybe)
and then either Penn or NC + VA. (Ok those are tough)
It will be a very close finish, no way Baraq "destroys" any Republican.
