Geez, right on the heels of dining with the Obamas. This Clooney character isn’t all there to begin with, so of course a few spare demons from the White Hut decided to venture off with him just for fun.

I agree with you 100%.

“Oh Brother” is the only movie he has been in that I liked....and he was the weakest thing about it.

I liked "From Dusk Till Dawn", but it wasn't because of Clooney

Good point. If I like a movie he is in, it is generally despite his performance.

Clooney was supposed to be wooden and stoic, thence the humor in the movie. Having said that, he has no more range than Pacino.

I agree; however, others did the rigidity thing so much better, such as Ray McKinnon, who played Vernon T. Waldrip:

BRW, you are right on the money about Pacino, another one-note guy. Think how much better Scent of a Woman could have been if only the right guy had played the role -- Robert Duvall. A tragedy. Duvall even knows how to tango, having an Argentine wife. Wonder if he turned the role down, as too much like The Great Santini?

Clooney is just another uneducated Hollyweird actor who thinks he is an expert in foreign affairs and other things political.

“Oh Brother” is the only movie he has been in that I liked....and he was the weakest thing about it.

It was his voice. He just wasn't the least convincing as a guy who would have grown up in the South, regardless of his character's pretensions to erudition. The right voice could have made the character really funny.

The secret to the Southern accent is the nasal twang and the wide pronunciation of vowels. Every time you hit a vowel, you pronounce all the vowels -- you just vary the order.

“Go protest in Darfur.”

Are you kidding? Could Clooney go and look up TWO countries on a map, in one week??

It’s life and death if he could find ONE!!!

Pre-approved by the White Hut.

I see it as an affirmation of the recently passed law against protesting. “See, we don’t discriminate, we even arrested our hero, Clooney”.

COming to a Tea Party demonstration near you.

I want to see how many SEIU thugs protesting in front of CEO homes are thrown in jail before I pay any more attention to this stunt.

100 Sudanese were asked for comments about George Clooney’s arrest. 100 Sudanese said “George who”?
