Obama: Gas prices 'make things harder' By: Jennifer Epstein March 17, 2012 07:02 AM EDT
With the price of gas averaging $3.83 per gallon for regular – 30 cents more than a month ago – President Barack Obama said he feels Americans’ pain at the pump but his administration is limited in its ability to lower gas prices.
“What matters most to me right now is the impact that rising prices have on you,” he said in his weekly address broadcast Saturday. “When you’ve got to spend more on gas, you’ve got less to spend on everything else. It makes things harder.”
Obama has repeatedly said there is no “silver bullet” to stop prices from rising and that the issue is largely beyond his administration’s control. “The truth is: the price of gas depends on a lot of factors that are often beyond our control. Unrest in the Middle East can tighten global oil supply. Growing nations like China or India adding cars to the road increases demand,” he said.
“It’s easy to promise a quick fix when it comes to gas prices. There just isn’t one,” he said. “Anyone who tells you otherwise — any career politician who promises some three-point plan for two-dollar gas — they’re not looking for a solution. They’re just looking for your vote.”

I waited and waited and waited for McCain to actually say something to get votes. 3 weeks before the election, nada, and I thought he’s waiting for the last minute so that the dems don’t have time to respond. 2 weeks before the election, same thing. 1 week before, nothing. I told my son election night, “We’ll lose.” But it was even worse because we lost both the House and the Senate as well as the Presidency.
I have actually been to a place where they have almost no toilet paper. In the bathrooms of restaurants and hotels there is a woman or man sitting behind a card table with a roll of toilet paper on it, separating the sheets into a stack. I paid $1 for 2 sheets. It is easy to figure how much that roll was worth.

But not limited in his ability to help make them rise.

Thanks to the genius of Obamanomics one pound cans and packages are now 12 to 14 1/2 ozs. Everything is downsized in order to be compared to this lousy economic picture painted by an utter nincompoop! There has never been a sane socialist/communist and there never will be.
Re-elect this slime that oozes around the White Hut and you’ll deserve what you get: a lousy fluked up country where lying is an art.
Not only are the higher gas prices giving consumers pain at the pump, but are increasing the cost of everything delivered by truck. The prices of groceries have gone up considerably lately largely as a result of higher shipping costs. A pound of butter is selling for almost the cost of a gallon of gas and fresh produce, eggs and meat are also going up in price. Add to this the increased cost of electricity and home heating oil which just as Obama promised have skyrocketed. Also look for a decline in the tourist business as families cannot afford the cost of driving any distance or the increased air fares. Consumers are taking it in the shorts all thanks to Obama.
I wonder if he “felt our pain” the other day when he stopped in for a 50 buck LUNCH of two slabs of ribs, a chunk of briskit and fixins’?
Wow, I sure am glad I have the smartest president ever tell me these things - I might never figure that one out otherwise.
High gas prices need to be tied to high food prices and the national debt.
It’s relatively easy to get gas prices down - especially with ‘friends’ like Obama has ... Not so easy to manipulate high food prices.
The MSM is carrying the ‘high gas prices’ story - THAT MEANS the issue will work FOR dems. The MSM DOES NOT carry water for Republicans.
