Would anyone be crazy enough to go up against Mark Steyn? He would totally demolish the rest of the panel on something like The Five.

He not only knows everything but he explains it with such sly wit and with a British accent. What could be better? And he’s very cute.

Morning AB, All….

Been a busy week just passed here in the swamps. Learning about politics more maybe than I wanted to know.

I understand politics is about the ability to lie and deceive. Sometimes there’s truth and honesty when truth and honesty was the intent but it’s seldom.

I also understand that politicians are needed and even, kinda sadly, are talented at their craft.

Which is lying and deceiving and never any kind of greater good.

It’s a stunning revelation to be in the middle of all of it.

At any rate, sang at mass this morning, ready to enjoy the thread.

As always, AB, thank you for doing this thread. If there’s nothing ongoing on this world, there’s always AB putting up this thread on Sunday mornings.

This election is looking more and more like a landslide all the time. His disastrous energy policy will only appeal to the most insane commie libs while everyone else will be wanting lower prices.

Pray for America

ABC, Afghanistan at a turning point? It seems most on the panel agree it is time to come home, Ignatius makes some interesting points about Afghanstan.

David Ignatius, WaPo - if we pull the plug and pull out, we almost guarantee a civil war in Afghanistan. President needs to make case for Afghanistan, he’s not made a clear case for Afghanistan.

What’s most troubling with Afghanistan.....is Karzai. He’s very unreliable.

To answer your earlier question, Seamus (I think that's the correct spelling) is the dog who's getting revenge, big time.

A long time ago, but in this very galaxy, Mitt Romney took his family on a long trip in a station wagon. There wasn't room for the dog, Seamus, so this paragon of wit and virtue decided to put the dog on top of the station wagon in a carrier.

The dog was miserable and ill and got diarrhea which dripped down the back window. When one of the kids pointed this out, the Mittster, pulled over in a filling station and hosed the dog and the car off.

This was something like a ten or eleven hour journey. When they arrived at the destination, Seamus escaped into the wild, planning revenge.

He's had it!

From the looks of the lineup this week, this observation will seem late, because the teacup seems to have calmed down, but I will bring it up anyway:

Rush Limbaugh looked at the Sandra Fluke problem the wrong way; we aren't being asked to pay so she can have sex, we are supposed to pay so she won't have children. And based on everything I have seen and heard from and about the woman, the world would be a better place if Sandra Fluke never has children. They would probably grow up to be selfish, whining, snot-nose little brats just like her.

And I mean that in the best way, of course.

Dittos Fish, we are filing 4 petitions this week to stop Light Rail going through our county. It has shocked the leaders in PTown and we will be putting them on a Sept ballot where these have been passing by 60-80%.

Pray for America

I don’t think Obama should have given notice he was pulling out of Afghanistan. What a moron.

He should have just pulled out and then announced it.

I am becoming very disillusioned with having troops anywhere in the middle east. Those people do not appreciate any of our efforts and, sadly, I don’t think our efforts have accomplished anything.

The middle east is becoming more and more fundamentalist muslim and it’s spreading to formerly more liberal countries like Egypt.

Maybe one small, well-fortified base, from which to coordinate a massive intelligence system and the data from that could elicit a response, I’m for bombing. Give the civilians fair warning and take out the nuclear facility. they say it’s underground and not susceptible to bombing, but you could sure bomb everything on top of it.

What’s most troubling with Afghanistan.....is Karzai. He’s very unreliable.

What's most troubling about Afghanistan is that we should have pulled out when we won that war. Which was about 6 months or less after we got there.

Nation-builidng is not our strong suit, and the last 10 years prove that. You want to re-build Afghanistan, take any 2 rocks and pile them on top of a third rock. You have now restored Afghanistan to where it was when the Soviet Union invaded.

No matter when we leave that place, we will end up going back there to shoot at people as long as they remain muslims. It's just the way it is.

I’ll take one for the team, Fox News with ROmney asks about shootings in Afghanistan, Karzai’s demands, and obama’s stance.

ROmeny says he would exercise leadersip, talk to Karzai on a daytoday basis. We have an interest there. This is an example of failed leadership with the Specific time tables on Afghanistan.

Mod asks would you accelerate withdrawal? ROmney says it’s dependent on what’s happening on the ground.

Oops, breakfast calling.......

I am a friend of the SSG Bob Bales family. This has been devestating for us, but we are deeply in prayer.

I ask everyone to pray for him and his family, and our country, and even Afghanis—through this terrible ordeal.

All I can say is things are not what the media likes to portray, so don’t believe everything you see or hear on TV.

I know, you the Sunday threaders, already know this.

I’m off to church now, and won’t be back until afternoon. I will be lighting a couple of candles today, and saying many a prayer and rosary. Help by praying too.

We are being asked to pay for her having unprotected sex. Birth control pills don't protect you from STDs including AIDS.

There was a thread yesterday on which a man who had served with Sgt. Bales posted. It was really interesting and he posted a picture of the two of them.

He has total respect for Bales. I am enraged that this man was sent back four times. I don’t know what happened and I do not trust the media or Obama.

But I will pray for him and his family. The worst thing that should happen to him is to be sentenced to a military hospital for Obama-induced mental illness.
