'The Blacks: A Clown Show' (Revisited as an American Tragedy)

In 1961 a play titled "The Blacks : A Clown Show" by the French petty criminal and homosexual prostitute Jean Genet, was the avant garde sensation of New York. At the St. Marks Playhouse it starred a cast of Black actors, then young but now well-known to us all -- people like James Earl Jones, Louis Gossett, Cecily Tyson, Godfrey Cambridge, Maya Angelou, and Roscoe Lee Brown. As I recall --though the cast most certainly changed over time -- it remained one of the longest running off-Broadway plays of that decade. In its review of the play, the NYT's Taubman put his own spin on Genet's meaning and concluded with no evidence at all:

Begin by acknowledging how much this pernicious race doctrine, CRT, has influenced the President and his administration and do everything you can to deny him a second term and challenge in your communities and courtrooms every vestige of this pernicious doctrine.

When I read the Title I thought they were talking about Obama’s White House.

It is about a play, but it does end up being about the White House.

Finally someone has written the truth. Our President is a racist, who appoints other racists and sycophants whites to primary jobs. Change is what he came in on and we are getting change allright and it’s leading us straight to hell.

Our entire Government today is slanted toward black and the cowards in the Congress are afraid to challenge him because they are afraid of being called racist.

We have a black Hitler running this country.

Here is a comment from the source. It is an amazing comment and worth reading several times. I have taken the liberty of inserting paragraph breaks to make it easier to read...
scythe (author)

And the most evil aspect of this president is that he was elected hating the majority who put him in office and hating them still as they let him get away with his thuggery and outlaw presidency because of his skin color.

The hater still hates.

Proving what many of us have said all these years: no matter what is done, no matter who destroys their lives in order to "repair" race relations, no matter how much property is confiscated, people ill treated and lives stunted, there will still be those who will continue to say nothing has changed and we want more. For those there is nothing that will ever be enough. It's time to move on and let the chips fall.

The spirit of Obama has not softened but hardened with his successes. He does not have the soul to see that he would not be where he is today if what he believed was true. He is soulless and mindless, a programmed robot whose animating thoughts were seared into his psyche at an early age, and lacking the intellectual ability to connect the dots he has lived a blinkered and blighted interior life carefully maintaining the outward appearance of a cool and detached observer. You don't hate with such a steady vehemence, you don't organize your relationships, your profession, your education, your MARRIAGE, and your life around hatred for decades into middle age and beyond without it taking over and perverting your mind to everything in your life.

America has in this president an emotionally unbalanced and vengeful grown up adolescent whose influence will never be expunged from our national psyche. He has done his damage and it will reverberate through the rest of my lifetime as well as the lives of millions. Even if he is defeated we will be like those whose lives were put in danger and who managed to escape: always wary, not quite what we were. More cynical, less trusting. Less American. More Soviet.

Just imagine what he must have been thinking about all of us as he looked out at the vast adoring throngs in 2008 and as he was invoking the word hope and secretly thinking: hate. America gave him their trust and he used it to sharpen his fangs.

A little off topic, but speaking of Godfrey Cambridge, his starring role in ‘The Watermelon Man’ (1970) was pure genius.

One question that comes to mind is: Why would a white marxist support CRT?

Clearly, they support anything that has the seed of revolution. I believe the rest of the answer is that many marxists don’t think with the clarity of moral righteousness and so they walk the path of the useful idiot.

And those who do understand the big picture scenario—the Machiavellis, the Stalins and the Alinskys—simply pursue evil for its own sake. And thus, these scoundrels by their very nature end up on the same path as the useful idiots.

I always thought they did it as a matter of haves vs. have nots. There has been an evolution of marxist over the century most notably with wealthy capitalist countries are successful because they screw over poorer countries. I pushed and annoyed a left wing college history professor to admit this in class and had a fantastic African professor right out talk about it being marxist.

All this evolved to a more micro setting of a capitalist majority in a country screwing over a poor minority

Excellent comment. And yet there is a still a lack of curiosity in most of the press regarding who Obama is and it’s doubtful there will be any in-depth reporting on CRT from the drive-bys unless it’s in the template of “old news”. Well it’s one thing to “outgrow” crazy college ideas, but there is NO evidence that’s the case with Obama; quite the contrary.

Clearly, they support anything that has the seed of revolution.

The anarchist Mikhail Bakunin said: "The destructive urge is also a creative urge."

It is foundational to the Left that they can only build something great by first destroying what is already in place in society. The left-wing anarchists ("all government is bad") believed that, and the left-wing collectivists ("government should be all things") believe that.

Tear down the Church. Tear down the family. Tear down the Constitution. Tear down the military. Tear down the entire social contract. THEN they will build something miraculous.

"He does not have the soul to see that he would not be where he is today if what he believed was true.

There's the takeaway line from all of this.

Most of the press is hard core liberal, of course, and I don't think they know exactly what to do with CRT.

CRT repudiates everything they stand for and essentially means that all they have done and said is a failure.

I do think however the truth is slowly coming to the surface...for example, the emergence on the scene of news of Derrick Bell...and then Dr. Sowell's article on him this week.

History will not treat Obama kindly. He is a hateful little man and the truth will come out. He has set back race relations in America to an incredible degree...possibly even damaged them irreparably.

Yes, Obama is a black Hitler. It took Hitler only 3 months to shut down radio and newspapers that told the truth. Obama was born too late for that kind of tyranny. Everyone has the internet today. And cell phones.

I have always been of a “don’t look at the color ON the face, look at the actions of the hands” kind of person.

Knowing that 98% of black America voted for this Marxist thug, I’ve got to wonder if that attitude can ever return.

Now, God help me, when I see a black person, the thought pops right into my head, “Do they ALL hate us and America as badly as he does?”

I agree, he’s set race relations back a good many years.

For many (indeed most) would-be revolutionaries, the prime directive is to overturn the established order that they feel has “failed” or “repressed” them, when in reality *they* have failed in it. Exactly what is to follow never seems clear...but it MUST be better than the existing order. Eric Hoffer’s “The True Believer” is a good look into the mindset of such people.

Reading personal accounts of the Russian, Cuban and Iranian revolutions, a common thread I noticed was the total lack of a coherent or unified vision among the revolutionaries of *what* was to follow...the only common theme was “well it WON’T be that awful dictator we have now”.

History will not treat Obama kindly. He is a hateful little man and the truth will come out.

That depends on who writes the history books.

And that depends on how much longer otherwise sensible people let this malignant black charade continue and grow.

What sensible person of 2 or 3 generations ago thought we would ever see the day when the Founding Fathers are either trashed or sidelined in public schools that laud third rate, untalented blacks who have done nothing at all to benefit the nation and the greater good?

But that is a good indicator of which side is winning the struggle for racial supremacy inside the USA today. And those are the people who will be writing the history books of tomorrow unless the nation recovers its sanity and ability to make and implement informed, fact based, rational judgments.

This is pretty interesting. I’m too young to remember it, but that was a pretty impressive cast. It must have been the hottest production in town, because those must have been the very best actresses and actors available. I bet those on the left have “forgotten” all about this play.
