Government takeover of the Land of the Free?
Canada Free Press ^ | March 18, 2012 | Judi McLeod

...Early Sunday morning and the AWOL mainstream media has missed the proverbial boat on the latest Executive Order signed Friday by President Barack Hussein Obama.

Executive Order “National Defense Resources Preparedness”, in effect nationalizes all the energy, food and water currently existing on American soil.

The EO is cunningly covered under the auspices of Peace Time Martial Law at the discretion of one man.

Although now posted on the Drudge Report, at the time of this writing, only scant reportage on the Web about the signing away of liberty and individual rights.

And we should be concerned. But many are thinking this is brand new cr@p tha obama just pulled outa his butt. And it really isn’t. But I don’t trust him at all. He might invoke it for any reason he decides benefits him.

Do you really think John Boehner or Mitch McConnell have the stones to orchestrate an override of this power grab?

Are you kidding? Some would but the “leadership” won’t. Boner will cry and McCain will compromise with his friends across the aisle. Graham will talk about how great Obama is.

Oh, it’s coming. Of course, most will just roll over and accept the tyranny.

Along as the food stamps, unemployment, and welfare continues his army will be loyal. Over half of Americans pay no income tax. Why because to change this would loose a huge part of his army. But once this dictator become permanent he will just cut the freeloaders off and hopefully he will not institute the gas chambers. Easy to round them up, all the data he needs is now obtainable. They he will round up all the gun owners and firing squads. (Started be a tongue in cheek but I scared myself)

But what do you think about Section 801 which adds “Civil transportation, Energy, Farm Equipment,Fertilizer, Food Resources, Food Resource Facilities” and “which apply throughout this order.”

Yes, we need real leaders, not PC types who make niggardly efforts but are afraid to use words like niggardly.

Obama has shredded the Constitution and been allowed to get away with it. He has increasingly been bypassing Congress to "rule" by EO and the Congress is full of so many political cowards that NONE of them are willing to challenge him.

The Founding Fathers did not envision a time when a corrupt congress and house would back a corrupt president and be supported by a corrupt judiciary and press.

The root cause of this destruction of the Republic and the Constitution is the powerful two party political system.

We now have people in positions of power throughout the government and the press who hold their first allegiance to the Democratis party rather than to the United States of America. in fact with many allegiance to the country and the constitution is far down the list or nonexistant.

As a corallary, one of the reasons the Republican party does not currently muster the kind of political power as the democrats is that a good part of people who comprise the Republican base are solid patriots who hold their allegiance to the nation and the constitution first and foremost. Their allegiance to the party is often far down the list after family, country, religion, ethics, morality, etc., etc. For many there really is no party allegiance - the republicans are usually just the lesser evil of two bad choices.

The two party political system, and specifically the democrat party, is destroying America and there is no remedy on the horizon. In fact, in any attack on the system, hard core Republicans fight reform just as hard as do democrats.

The Founding Fathers did not envision a time when a corrupt congress and house would back a corrupt president and be supported by a corrupt judiciary and press.

Actually, they did. Central to their entire scope of government was the notion of the balance of power. The balance of power extends throughout the Constitution and was the basis for the south to secede from the union when they disagreed with the president's decision to free the slaves. In turn, the north also used the balance of power to force the south back into the union.

In addition, the whole issue of the Second Amendment is also about the balance of power. The people were allowed to keep and maintain weapons as a means of maintaining the balance of power between themselves and a powerful, abusive central government.

Where the failure of the Founding Fathers enters into the picture is their failure to predict or envision the political and moral cowards who have taken control of the government. To be sure, the Democrats are bullys who do not hesitate to issue epithets and sound bites that d@mn conservatives. But, the Republicans, as the representatives of conservative values, lack both the courage and moral conviction to stand up for America, the Constitution, and the values that conservatives espouse.

And this comment:

Ed, I think you could have done some more research before posting this “all clear.” Specifically, look at the language change in Section 201, part b.

It now says:

(b) The Secretary of each agency delegated authority under subsection (a) of this section (resource departments) shall plan for and issue regulations to prioritize and allocate resources and establish standards and procedures by which the authority shall be used to promote the national defense, under both emergency and non-emergency conditions.

The 1994 document you linked to says nothing of “non-emergency” conditions. This is a broad and frightening expansion of the Executive Branch’s power to ration food, energy, health care, water, and “all other materials, services, and facilities, including construction materials” whenever the president deems it necessary, under both emergency and non-emergency conditions. What non-emergency conditions would merit such rationing? Emergency political conditions, that’s what.

This is a stunning grab for power over the nation’s resources and its people’s liberties.

Wake up, Ed. Really. Wake up.

Also, congress would intervene and override his e.o.

Right. I can hear them beating a path to his door now.

“as long as they don’t miss their next GOVERNMENT CHECK”

And who spends the most to get a government check? The losers we elect to represent us. Then, they get to DC and represent the lobbyists that will take care of them.

I did read that article and see that this is just extending policies that have been in place for a long time. However, we’ve never had a communist as POTUS before. That is the problem.

My first thought as well. When it comes to law enforcement, he's selective.

The Founding Fathers had personal experiences with tyranny and never dreamed the free press would brown-nose King George Obama.

Am waiting also. Cancel the NCAA basketball tournament and maybe a few million will protest in the streets, that I believe is more likely.

Prove this Fraud presented a forged document as his birth certificate, a forged selective service registration, and a bogus social security number registered in CT -start impeachment and I guarantee millions and millions of his sycophants take to the streets and riot.

There will be no civil war, not even an attempted overthrow of the government when it takes our liberties.

We are going to get exactly what we deserve and it’s going to be ugly folks.
