The reaction of various Freepers can be explained below...

7 Stages of Grief...

1. SHOCK & DENIAL- You will probably react to learning of the loss with numbed disbelief. You may deny the reality of the loss at some level, in order to avoid the pain. Shock provides emotional protection from being overwhelmed all at once. This may last for weeks.

2. PAIN & GUILT- As the shock wears off, it is replaced with the suffering of unbelievable pain. Although excruciating and almost unbearable, it is important that you experience the pain fully, and not hide it, avoid it or escape from it with alcohol or drugs.

3. ANGER & BARGAINING- Frustration gives way to anger, and you may lash out and lay unwarranted blame for the death on someone else. Please try to control this, as permanent damage to your relationships may result.

4. "DEPRESSION", REFLECTION, LONELINESS- Just when your friends may think you should be getting on with your life, a long period of sad reflection will likely overtake you.

5. THE UPWARD TURN- As you start to adjust to life without your dear one, your life becomes a little calmer and more organized. Your physical symptoms lessen, and your "depression" begins to lift slightly.

6. RECONSTRUCTION & WORKING THROUGH- As you become more functional, your mind starts working again, and you will find yourself seeking realistic solutions to problems posed by life without your loved one.

7. ACCEPTANCE & HOPE-

And keeping Obama is better how?

I don't think Romney would have Anita Dunn, Valerie Jarrett, or Van Jones working in the White House.

I don't think Romney will put more progressive lesbians on the court.

I don't think Romney will surround himself with Chicago Communists and Anarchists.

He's obviously no Reagan but Obama to me is just Stalin lite. We don't need four more years of 5 year plans.

I don’t think FR will be supportive of Romney, however, it surely will be awkward if the Dhims and MSM start to quote Freepers saying something against Romney in November. Since this is a conservative site, they’re drooling to do so, basking on the fact that the public may not be able to distinguish conservative from Republicans.

“If the voters are given a choice between a democrat and a democrat, they will always chose the democrat.”

Problem is, the choice won’t be beween Democrats.
It will be between a RINO, and a Raving Radical Socialist Lunatic.

Santorum did not qualify for the ballot in Wheaton and in some areas of Southern IL.

I have no earthly idea what you could possibly be yammering about. I’ve supported Newt since he was an asterisk in the polls and could gladly vote for Santorum in the general election even though I think Newt is vastly preferable. Most (though lamentably not all) Newt supporters are in the same boat.

I will not vote for Myth in this or any other election.

Put down the hash pipe.

You people look and sound like a bunch of unruly children on a playground, arguing over who has the better looking shoes.

Bull. Absolute bull. I have not criticized Gingrich other than to say I believe it's time for him to get out. I don't pop into Gingrich threads and bash him, call him names, and post MSM lies about him. You have shown up on nearly every Santorum thread and attacked him, sometimes in quite the juvenile manner, and you have run with the media spin against him.

I will agree with you that it is what it is, but people who have viciously gone after Santorum on this forum after Gingrich had sunk low in the polls and Santorum was our best bet to beat Romney, have not helped the reality at all.

The Problem as I see it with Romney is that he will be such a mediocre President that even if he does win he will be so middle of the road as to “not upset the apple cart” that the economy will not bloom and then in 4 years it will assure that the democrats take back power on the whole meme that the “economy didn’t recover”.

Not to mention any GOP president is going to be so damned hated no matter how “moderate” they are. Mittens will get so damned gun shy that he will be ineffective and the MSM and the Democrat controlled media will smell blood and keep attacking him even as he retreats and this will paralyze him to what needs to be done to restore the economy and defuse all of Obama’s horrible regulatory actions.

Newt is going to be hated like hell anyways and HE KNOWS THAT, but he also knows that he will have the people who put him there behind even if the Media doesn’t paint it that way every night at 5:00pm.

So therefore, Newt (who thrives on antagonism instead of flinching from it) will take the bold measures to recover the economy despite being thrashed every night on the MSM news channels. In Four years the MSM will be flabbergasted like their were on election night in 1984, because the man on the street will notice the economy improvement.

Mitt is a Flincher, Newt is a Clincher

Definition of a Clincher:

a decisive fact, argument, act, or remark

Definition of a Flincher:

to withdraw or shrink from or as if from pain

We are so SOL if Either Mittens gets in or Barry gets a second term.

Mittens would only slow things down and then in four years the GOP would be blamed so much but with little to show we would still be in an economic malaise the likes of Carter’s worst dreams. This would GUARANTEE a Democrat Victory over the house the senate and even the presidency in 2016. They would not be pulling any punches as they would run someone that would make Obama look like a middle of the road moderate. Because they know they would have a very good chance of winning. Not to mention the class warfare game that could be played to Bolshevik conclusion during that election if we get Romney and mediocre performance out of him which is very much likely.

Of course Obama winning would be a very much “nothing to lose” second term that would see him likely either completely destroying the economy so badly that they play the game of “Destroy and Support” in that they would destroy the economy and then support the people as the “great savior” thus ensuring either “Glorious Revolution” or the mass construction project of making millions more so dependent that they will have a permanent grip on power that would only come undone with Blood sweat and tears, but mostly Blood and Tears.

ABO and ABR, because we really need Newt or maybe Santorum if we get desperate, heck I would even take, heaven forbid (I can’t believe I am saying this), Ron Paul over Romney for the reasons above.

So I repeat once more: Newt is the Clincher, and Mitt is the Flincher.

“The longer Republicans spend time talking about birth control instead of the economy and our debt”

Okay, this statement here is indicative of how easily even so-called conservatives fall for the drive-by media narrative. Republicans are not the ones primarily talking about birth control. All the candidates have talked mostly about the economy. The only reason birth control ever came up was:

A. Because Stephanpoulus asked Romney about it in a debate

and

B. Because of Obama’s unconstitutional mandate that the Catholic Church violate their conscience and provide abortions, at which point it became a 1st amendment issue and one well worthy of being talked about.

I will enthusiastically support either Newt or Santorum, and right now the best we can hope for is a brokered convention. Romney is the worst possible candidate. With his past record writing the precursor to Obamacare, he is as Santorum put is “uniquely unqualified” to face Obama this fall because he will force us to give away the biggest issue in this election.

Sure, Romney could still win because of Obama’s deep unpopularity, but I believe he’d be the weakest of any of our candidates.

I think it was CNN, could have been Fox, who had an Obama camapaign worker on there tonight. He pointed out that Romney flip flops and panders. You know they are already ramping up their campaign strategy against him.

My vote will be to tell the GOP it cannot keep shoving RINOS down our throats. It will be 3rd party in all likelihood.

I have NEVER failed to vote GOP, even for McStain and Bush 1. Not this time. I see ZERO difference between Myth and Obama, except that the damage done by Obama will be blamed on the left, not the right. Let it be so.

I will NOT vote for Romney under any circumstances.

Hank

And how is that our fault? Romney’s the one with the liberal governing record. And I highly doubt they’ll have to quote Freepers, they can easily just quote (and play clips of) the other candidates. Newt and Rick both have said many truths about Romney’s liberal record that the MSM will be able to use. But they wouldn’t have said those things if Romney hadn’t DONE those things. Ultimately, if Romney goes down to defeat this fall (and there’s a good chance he will), it will not be our fault, it will be his.

“I will not vote for Romney if he is the nominee.”
Barack Obama thanks you for your non-vote. I’m sure, in twenty years or so, your heirs will be cussing you for it.

I’m sorry that Jesus Christ, and the ghost of Ronald Reagan decided not to run, but there you have it.

We have a choice of mere mortals, and any one with an R behind their name is far better than the Radical Socialist race-baiting ex-drug dealer currently soiling the People’s House.

You’ve been a very positive voice for your candidate and one of the posters that have kept me interested in the political side of FR. I have no candidate since Perry dropped out, so I’m just voting ABO in November.
