The French interior minister says a suspect in three deadly attacks has thrown his handgun out a window but has other weapons on him and has used them in volleys with police surrounding a building in this southwestern city.

Claude Gueant said Wednesday the 24-year-old suspect, who is surrounded by police in the building and claiming links to Al Qaeda, is talking to a police negotiator and says he'll surrender in the afternoon. The minister says police want to take him alive.

Funny how just yesterday, the French press was going around blaming right wing extremists!

This person has forgotten the order of jihad. You commit your terrible deed, then you die. He seems to believe you can be a martyr without one part of the action. The police should help him with his education.

The “right wing” fascists the French media set out to blame are extreme socialist, race obsessed kooks, just like the race obsessed Marxist extreme left wing in France which the media loves.

At least in America the fascists who hate on jews and the marxists who hate on Christians are in the same party. The “right wing” wants constitutional freedom and equal rights and justice for all - all at the same time.

He'll turn himself in? Excuse me? And they're just going to sit around munching on crumpets and sipping tea until he does?

three cops injured in the raid on his home? They've been following him "for years?"

Inspector Cluseau is, apparently, alive and well.

The minister says police want to take him alive.

He killed 3 kids. (and wounded 3 policemen, according to the article).

Why do they "want to take him alive"?

By the way, I clicked the link you provided and finally found the story but did not find the phrase, that the police wanted to "take him alive". Was that from a different source or did I miss it in the linked article?

I thought these murders sounded like a Moslem killing North Africans (possibly also Moslem) serving in the French military, and then attacking a Jewish school. But no, it just had to be white, right-wing extremists.

Germany's Spiegel Online identifies the alleged shooter as Mohammed M. It normal in German news not to give the family name in press reports. He is a french national of Algerian descent.

He was sentanced to 3 years in prison in Kandahar for setting bombs. During a Taliban attack in 2008 he managed to escape.

The link above is to the Spiegel Online news ticker on this story.

going around blaming right wing extremists!

There was an eye witness who said that the shooter wore a camera strapped to his chest. That was verified by school security cameras.

Wearing cameras in such a manner is practiced by elite paratroopers to film jumps. A theory was proposed alluding to 3 soldiers who had been kicked out of an elite airbone regiment nearby in the recent past for neo-nazi comments.

I clicked on the link again, and found that the article that is there now is a different article altogether from what I posted originally.

In fact, the article at the link now is a third, totally new article than what I read at the same link around 5:30 this morning.

It's strange, but trust me the article that I thought I linked to had a sentence that said the police wanted to take him alive.

-—Funny how just yesterday, the French press was going around blaming right wing extremists!-—

Freakin’ laugh-riot.

A Mohammedan perpetrator, just like it is 99% of the time in cowardly and vicious terrorist attacks.

The media is the enemy.

Jihadis also record their attacks, to post them to jihad web sites for the praise.

France abolished the death penalty in 1981, and it is now abolished throughout the EU. Ironically, that arch Eurocrat Valéry Giscard d’Estaing was the last French president to authorise an execution when he was president of France...
