The deadly shooting of an unarmed teenager by a neighborhood watch captain is sparking outrage in New York and across the country, and now, the Occupy Wall Street Movement is getting involved.
Trayvon Martin's family meets with the justice department Thursday to demand answers about the way their son's shooting was handled by local police in Florida. But on Wednesday night, hundreds rallied in Union Square Park as Martin's parents spoke to the crowd.
"My son did not deserve to die," Tracy Martin said after thanking those who participated in a march in the teenager's memory.
Demonstrators chanting "we want arrests" converged on for what was dubbed the Million Hoodie March.
Sybrina Fulton, Trayvon Martin's mother, told the crowd: "My heart is in pain, but to see the support of all of you really makes a difference."

Not that he deserved to die, but wasn’t the kid trespassing in a gated community? What was he doing there?
"Swing low, sweet chariot, coming for to carry me home...." - Long-time left-wing America-hater Joan Baez sang for Tookie [Williams] just before he entered the death chamber which he had eluded for decades.

Actually, I believe he was visiting a resident of the community - his father’s fiance or somesuch.
But I still think the police have more facts on this than all these armchair quarterbacks do.
“Long-time left-wing America-hater Joan Baez sang for Tookie [Williams] just before he entered the death chamber”
Those liberal dummies are the cancer which is killing our civilization.
How do you know a crime was committed? Here is a statement from the police on the incident, including why Zimmerman wasn't arrested.
Yes, that was going to be my question also.
Another selective indignation. If that’s the word.
I wonder whose promoting it this time.
"Whether is was on the East Coast or the West Coast, children are children,'' said Darryl Stevenson, Acting President of the African-American Club of Pasco. "I'm a firm believer that all children are our children. Doesn't matter where they are, where they come from or what they look like. We're responsible for their welfare and their education and their well being. And this was an instance where a child's life was taken, so we need to stand up for it."
How do you know a crime was committed?
They don't care if the shooting was justified or not. All they care about is using the case to stir up anger and protest to advance their far left political agenda.
Of course that is the case. The Left is stirring up racial discord as a way to energize Obama’s base before November. IMO, much of the reaction was organized before it became known that Zimmerman was an Hispanic or that he had blacks in his family and as friends per his father’s statment. This may very well backfire on them once all the facts are known.
Correct. The story bouncing around on the internet and that has also been reported on at least one cable news show is that Zimmerman was a drug informant for the Sanford PD, and has been since the the PD dropped the assault of a police officer charges against Zimmerman.
That is why the investigation of the shooting was handled by a drug enforcement officer from the Sanford PD rather than a homicide investigator.
Sanford PD tried to protect their informant
Only from what you have been hearing and told from the MSM.
Note the name of the org at the bottom of the placard: "Party for Socialism and Liberation"
The Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL) is an offshoot of Workers World Party. Several former leaders of WWP started it up when WWP was exposed as the communist founder/organizer of ANSWER. The PSL now "officially" runs ANSWER. However, they all still work tightly together.
1. I believe nothing from the msm
2. In the situation where there is a death, you always have to look at who survived. They could actually be a killer. Lots of lies get told in the case of a death. Here, the kid was not inside someone’s house which would make it plain that there was a right to protect oneself.
3. My legal analysis: the kid had a right to be where he was, as you said he was 100 feet from “where he was staying.” Some grown man was following him. They got into a fistfight and the grown man escalated by pulling a gun. Should not have fired. Grown man not hurt. “Had grass on his back” oooooooo serious stuff. (sarc) Had a head injury, what, a red mark from a fist? You don’t escalate to a killing when you are in a fist fight with someone who is smaller (although perhaps taller) than you.
NOW DO YOU SEE?
Not surprised. The police are so depraved. Send a drug officer. Brilliant. Protect their drug informant. Great. You know why the police focus on drugs? So they don’t have to deal with the real violence, so they can score cash, too. Bullies.
COMMUNIST agitators...pound it, folks.
