France's presidential campaign had already tilted anti-foreign, anti-Islam. Muslims worry about what will follow revelation that a Muslim was responsible for Jewish school shootings.
When French media flashed yesterday morning that a young Algerian Muslim holed up in his apartment had confessed to killing seven people, including three Jewish children earlier this week, French Muslims let out a collective cry: Oh no, this is not good.
Well before Mohammed Merah claimed responsibility for the string of killings in southern France that also left three French soldiers dead, Muslims in France were feeling under siege. The country is in the midst of a hard-fought presidential election campaign that careened in an anti-foreign, anti-Islam direction weeks before, highlighted by a concocted panic about “halal” meat – which meets Islamic requirements – that was used as code for French Muslims being vaguely un-French and problematic.
...“I called my wife and told her to prepare our luggage!” says Karim, an Algerian French resident who works at a Paris nongovernmental organization. He was only half-joking, he says. “This just opens the door to all xenophobic and racist themes. The Muslim community was already stigmatized, and now it may be more stigmatized.”
Muslims in France feel they are battling more openly stated negative images of their community. They say that in this year's election campaign, the center-right and far right have competed to use the "Islam card" to woo mainstream voters. Many Muslims feel the French media and elites completely misunderstand them, ..

Mohammed Merah, the confessed murderer of three children and a rabbi at a Toulouse Jewish school this week, was not a lone wolf, and on Wednesday the testimonies poured in about his involvement with a Salafi (extreme strand of Sunni Islam) group named Forsane al-Izza (FA).
The “Knights of Pride”- as the group’s name means in English - was founded in France about a year ago and was outlawed at the beginning of 2012. Up until it was outlawed, the group’s main function was to keep French security forces out of neighborhoods with a Muslim majority. The group expressed its opposition to French democracy, striving to create a Islamic Caliphate in its place. Forsane al-Izza’s leader and spokesman, Mohamed Achamlane, is of Algerian descent.
Forsane al-Izza worked against a French law which banned the wearing of hijabs (a veil worn by Muslim women in public), even provocatively calling on French President Nicolas Sarkozy’s wife, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, to wear a hijab herself.
Meanwhile, the group has also posted videos on the Internet showing it was training for a future clash with French authorities. The “Knights” have also organized protest rallies in which they have called supporters “to fight against Sarkozy’s Jewish-Zionist government.”
Arab media has reported that while the group indeed mainly operates in France, it also had branches in Afghanistan and Pakistan, where its members have undergone training in al-Qaida camps.
The group’s website was shut down on Wednesday and the site’s homepage read: “Due to great pressures brought upon us, we have dismantled the Forsane al-Izza movement.”
Prior to the final announcement, their website carried a message saying “There is nothing but Islam. All Muslims must return to the ways of the original Islam, as it was thousands of years ago” – which is the main tenet at the core of Salafism.

I’ve heard they do this in Jersey City as well.

Until the French want to resume breeding, they’ll have to settle for whoever will populate their country; here in the US we have the same dilemna, and import Latinos and Asians to fill out empty houses/apartments, elementary schools, etc.

“They” always have the option of leaving France (quite a great place, really....despite some Frenchmen) and returning to their dens of the past. And the sooner the better.
I think the muzzies are wearing out their welcome in France - the French know what time it is and they don’t have a muslim president and even if they did they would know what’s up.

Mostly, they come from within. I have no animosity towards Arab Christians etc. - the problem is the religion.
