One problem: Rick Santorum never said he would ‘rather have Barack Obama as president’
Daily Caller ^ | March 23, 2012 | Matt K. Lewis

Rick Santorum is getting grief — even from some of his supporters — for saying we’d be better off sticking with Barack Obama.

The only problem is…he didn’t say that.

Here’s what Santorum actually said:

“You win by giving people a choice. You win by giving people the opportunity to see a different vision for our country, not someone who’s just going to be a little different than the person in there. If you’re going to be a little different, we might as well stay with what we have instead of taking a risk with what may be the Etch A Sketch candidate of the future,” Santorum told a crowd at USAA.

Santorum is a threat to derail Mittens, so the R establishment and sodomites like Drudge will say anything to advance their candidate.

I agree that Santorum was characterizing what voters would be thinking and not saying it directly himself.

But as usual with Santorum, he’s so poorly spoken, and such a simple tool, that it’s easy for the left (like Drudge) to twist his words.

Any High School newspaper could have performed that function.

Santorum is a well-meaning blithering idiot.

Rick is simply telling the truth.

The media is lying about Santorum again. The media is always lying about Santorum. Every single day since Santorum won the Iowa caucuses the media has been deliberately lying about him. The vicious lies are all attacks to make Santorum look bad and lose support.

Santorum is continually lied about in the media and in attack ads. Santorum has been outspent about 20 to 1. It is truly amazing that Santorum has done as well as he has.

You might want to take a different approach. Rick clearly said what he said and meant what he said.

“Santorum is a well-meaning blithering idiot.”

Yep. Lost re-election to the Senate in his own state by a LANDSLIDE. He isn’t going to be our nominee. He isn’t going to be president. All he is doing is helping Obama. Same with Gingrich.

Like him or not, its time to get behind Romney and help him defeat the Muslim Marxist. We cannot beat the left wing media and the Democrats if we are fighting amongst ourselves.

Exactly. I didn't see how Santorum’s latest comment was any different than the previous “needing the best contrast” ones. Of course I watched the Fox “Special Report” clowns last night claim “Santorum ended his campaign with that remark”. Just tells me Santorum is still a threat since Ailes has deployed the hit team again. Santorum’s due to pick up LA. If he does it by 12 points like polls are showing, it might dawn on somebody that it's just like the Romney triumph of the ages in Illinois, and this isn't over.

Rick was right in his statement. Who is going to vote Obummer Lite when they can have the real thing. I remember some dude talking about the difference between Pale Pastels and Bold Colors a number of years back as well.

Clearly the people who need translations for everything the man says, really don’t want to know the truth. I understood him perfectly fine just like when he said unemployment doesn’t matter if you don’t have freedom.

Santorum has a knack of making himself look bad. He makes statements which may hold some truth but never thinks about the future ramifications of what he says. This is idiocy, a completely unnecessary statement, designed only for the benefit of his self absorbed self. I pray Santorum will not by luck become president, it would be a daily carnage by media. An unmitigated disaster.

Well, in the ‘truth doesn't matter’ era of news we are getting today, there is no way to tell what kind of absolutely crazy stories we are going to hear up to the election. Everything, and I mean everything, is getting just completely out of hand.

The Leftist goal of ‘crushing America’ and installing a dictatorship is within their grasp for the first time and there is nothing at all that they will not do to make it happen. Every possibility is open.

We already see Sharpton and Farrakhan deliberately inciting race riots. We see the Left formulating their own riots. The whole idea here is to give Hussein any excuse for martial law. The more violent and crazy they become, in their mind, the more they win. Any excuse will do.

The Left knows they can never win an election and that is not what they are about anyway. They are about force and take, against what the people want.

This is going to be a crazy time in America. Riot after riot backed by complete distortion and disinformation coming from the so called ‘news’. Gonna be a wild ride to 2013 and after.

Even if Hussein loses, there is guarantee he will step down. They will use the OJ Black extortion tactic, if I don't stay there will be riots everywhere. Husein may even just start a war somewhere when he loses. “I can't leave now!” Anything could happen.

Louisiana, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Texas. Lets LINE THEM UP, AND BEAT ROMNEY and deny him the nomination. This is TRULY in the grassroots tradition of Ronald Reagan taking on the naysayers, the national media, and the Republican National Committee and GOP Elite Leadership from coast to coast...vanquishing their pretty boys they are putting up against a doctrinaire conservative.

EAGLES UP!! Lets do it! Lots of work to do for all of us on behalf of Rick for the next few weeks.

“Santorum=neophyte=inexperienced=shoots himself in the foot=constantly=notreadyforprimetime”

You are just repeating and spreading the false narrative about Santorum that is being promoted by the media and by attack ads. They take what Santorum says and twist it around or outright lie about it and then portray Santorum as an idiot, a religious fanatic, a man who wants to hurt women, etc.

Santorum is being attacked and lied about because he is a good and moral man. It is that simple. Haven't you seen enough anti-Christian bias in the media to see that?

If you don't agree with Santorum or don't think he is the best candidate that is fine. But please don't add to the lies and the dishonest, coordinated effort to destroy a good man.
