“Did this altercation happen in on a street in a fancy neighborhood?”
From what I read the neighborhood is not fancy just because it is a gated one. They have a 49% white, 51% black and Hispanic makeup. They have had a large amount of crime recently in this neighborhood which is why they started a neighborhood watch program.
In FL they have two laws that give the right to self defense up to and including deadly force. If you feel you are in danger of being harmed then you can use deadly force to stop the altercation. The DOJ shows that more people are killed each year by beatings and kickings than are killed by guns or knives. So being beaten is grounds for deadly force if you feel the beating is becoming life threatening.
That is what the MSM really is trying to do here. They are trying to outlaw the Stand your Ground laws passed in over 21 states. We as gun rights supporters have won too many of our rights back and they just can’t take that.
From what I have heard by talking with some cops I know, Martin was suspended from school for 5 days because he was involved in gang activity. They keep showing pictures of Trayvon as a angel faced kid. He was 6’2” tall and a foot ball player at his High School. He was more than a match for Zimmerman. He was also said to have escaped Zimmerman but when Zimmerman was going back to his truck Martin rushed out and knocked him to the ground. Then he got on top of him and was beating him in the face. It was only then that Zimmerman pulled his gun and shot Martin.
If things happen as they normally do, the facts will leak out. If the facts aren’t as the MSM is playing them then this will be proof that the MSM is trying to stir up a lynch mob. The only reason I can think why they would do this is they might believe it would help Obama in the 2012 election. It would help bring back the “white guilt” felt by so many liberals and, from what I see on these threads” some RINO conservatives too.
It surprises me how many RINO liberal “conservatives” we have here on FR.
The above video that Kristinn posted at #76 clearly shows that it is not an "upscale, gated community" as being reported throughout the MSM but rather a normal apartment complex for middle income and below residents. I'm familiar with them, I lived in one for 23 years.
And to show how contorted this whole story has become, Sean Hannity just had a black lady on his radio program giving her expected take on this sad situation. During her commentary, she even made reference to the complex as an " upscale gated community, from what she heard" showing clearly that she too was willing to accept all the crap the MSM was putting out......
My prayers go out to Mr. Zimmerman AND his family because the MSM has gone out of their way to condemn him and Sharpton and Farrakhan are calling for vigilanti justice.........
