What do the Tea Party people say? It certainly isn’t “I follow the Republican Party line 100%”. Heck, people call Romney the “establishment candidate”. What I like about him is he doesn’t even hang out with the so-called Republican establishment.

Noooo he hangs with the leftist marxist types...and is the architect of their biggest socialist boondoggle, Obamney Care.

he is a crony capitalist at best, Just like Hitler had his Krupp, Daimler and Messerschmidt.

The Massachusetts health plan, Romneycare if you prefer, was put together by the health policy guy at the Heritage Foundation. In fact, he was there for the signing of it. Heritage is hardly a leftist organization. There is a difference between what a state does for its people and what the federal government requires of them.

Those who want conservative purity will always come up short, as peoples views change as do the context for their decisions. If you think Romney was too liberal in Massachusetts, consider that his legislature was about 80% Democrat. Yet he balanced the budgets there while governor, during economic times when none of us would have cared if he hadn’t. Santorum never made control of spending a priority while he was in Washington, and he voted for No Child Left Behind and the Medicare prescription drug legislation. Why does he get a pass and Romney doesn’t.

And please remember that our model of conservatism, Ronald Reagan, raised enormous taxes during his term as governor of California. Yet he was able to get tax cuts through a Democratic Congress while president.

Not sure why you can call him a Crony Capitalist, since those people tend to have to spend lots of time in government to provide tax deals etc, that benefit their cronies.
