Video Uncovered: Romney in ‘02: ‘Only Connection’ to the Republican Party Is My Party Registration
The Blaze ^ | 3/23/12

With his conservative credentials still taking fire over “Etch A Sketchgate,” Mitt Romney is facing a new potential obstacle to his argument that he is unfailingly a Republican.

A 2002 clip, posted Friday on BuzzFeed, shows then-Massachusetts gubernatorial candidate Romney declaring that his “only connection” to the Republican Party in the state is that “I’m registered as a Republican.”

Call everyone in every remaining primary state and tell them to save the election...vote Newt or Paul at this point. Do not allow this guy to get the nomination.

I'll support that effort just to bring about a brokered convention. However, I'm calling out for a DRAFT SARAH PALIN MOVEMENT.

No one really wants any one of these candidates so why pretend? Palin is the one for which the base is clamoring. She's thoroughly vetted, right on the issues and will inspire GOTV like none other resulting in many other victories down ticket.

Mitt Romney is a phony!! He won’t even be that great for the economy!

If we want to stop him, we have to vote Santorum.

Paul or Gingrich do not stand a chance.

VOTE SANTORUM. There isn’t much time left!!!

spreading hate and distrust against all the R candidates is the job of Obama’s out of work campaign workers.

What part of hate and distrust is HIS RECORD. PRO HOMO, PRO ABORTION, anti-traditional marriage, appointing more liberal judges than conservative, Big Gov't socialistic healthcare, very weak on 2nd adm and gun issues. Did NOTHING for the economy for MA during his admin - I'm talking ROMNEY here, not Barry!

He's the one that has not one whit of trust or truth! He's a KNOWN LIAR. He doesn't belong in our election.

LOL... It seems that Romney has been using his Etch-a-Sketch for a very long time.

But, but, but the GOP-e supports this guy. Fox news loves and supports him.

Gee Whiz and Holy Tomato Juice Batman, this must be a surprise to everyone!!! BOOM! POW!!

Now that Saintorum has endorsed Obama (well, that’s what Obama will say), this race is sure getting ugly.

Obama and his merry men must be laughing themselves to sleep at night.

Agree! I used to see eye to eye with at least half the posts here, but lately, they seem to have gone off the deep end hating Romney and all Mormons.
Since when does a man’s religion rule him out of an election? They would rather have someone raised a Muslim who has proven he hates America, writing books, making speeches etc.
This country is in cardiac failure now and we need to use the paddles on the patient to bring it back to life.
Voting based on religious hatred is not the American way!

Wow. This is from Glenn Beck's favorite news site, The Blaze?

How did a story critical of Romney sneak past?

There is a strong anti-Mormon contingent here. I’ve seen Romney referred to as the Antichrist, and it was neither sarcastic nor a one-time thing. I hope and pray that comes from leftist plants, but you can never be sure.

From a practical standpoint, I just don’t get it. Obama is a *hardcore* socialist and his actions as President - as well as the actions of all of the people he surrounds himself with - have been as unconstitutional and un-American as one could possibly have conceived. Yet there are hundreds of people here saying that Romney is no better.

Is it possible that that many so-called conservatives are that stupid? I have a hard time believing it.

"What I like about him is he doesn’t even hang out with the so-called Republican establishment."

No, he hangs out with Planned Parenthood and sodomites.

What is there to LIKE about Romney? Is it his plastic, pod-person manner? His painfully awkward social retardation? His unregenerate lying? His love for abortion and homosexuals?

Show me one candidate who is willing to put up with the media glare who hasn’t tripped up somewhere.

I personally, prefer Newt, but I know he can’t win. They can show him sitting on a couch with Nan Polosi agreeing with global warming and several other gaffes he has made.
He could out debate Obama with his tongue tied to his left ear without using a teleprompter. But debates won’t win the election with Obama out there in the news everyday campaigning on the taxpayer’s $

Then there’s Saintorum (thanks to the other poster for this nickname)who endorsed Romney “before” he endorsed Obama as well as supporting Spector then losing his state election. If Penn. turned him away as a senator, what makes folks think he can win nationwide????

Or is Ron Paul your guy? I won’t even give him the time to point out his faults.
I want a candidate to get the Federal govt out of my bedroom. Out of my refrigerator, out of my healthcare. And out of my church!
What a state gov passes is not going to cost the fed. govt taxpayer $. You are blaming Romney for what went on in a very liberal state.
You can always move out of a state if you don’t like the way it’s going. I moved from Ca to another state.
If you and others have your way with this election, we may all be trying to move to Mexico after Nov.

If you do like Newt, you would know what he has said about global warming. I see nowhere his accomplishments as Speaker is listed. The other 3rd don't have any!!

Compare that to Mitt's record - mind you MA isn't any more liberal than most and Mitt made it WORSE, more liberal, by being their governor. I see you bought his garbage.

My state doesn’t have party registration. Evidently, Mitt Romney is more of a Republican than I am. What credentials do we need to see?

What do the Tea Party people say? It certainly isn’t “I follow the Republican Party line 100%”. Heck, people call Romney the “establishment candidate”. What I like about him is he doesn’t even hang out with the so-called Republican establishment.

Noooo he hangs with the leftist marxist types...and is the architect of their biggest socialist boondoggle, Obamney Care.

he is a crony capitalist at best, Just like Hitler had his Krupp, Daimler and Messerschmidt.

I just know that you can’t agree with ANY candidate 100%.
I want to see BO out of our WH!
It looks like Romney is our hope to do that. If that is the case, then let’s not be part of Obama’s team by picking the opposing candidate to pieces. You are only doing the Dems work for them.
Where have you seen a post on here that lists the accomplishments of any of the candidates?
It is all doom and gloom and negative.
Conservatives have a reputation for eating their own and this is certainly true this political season. (I know, you don’t believe Romney is a conservative but he is far right of Obama.
Obama voted for late term abortions and is spending us into the same rating as Greece. Now, tell me he is better than Romney? No way!

How about looking at this record and the unemployment in his state during his admin. DISMAL!!

Massachusetts unemployment rate:
January 2003: 5.6%
January 2007: 4.6%

If only every governor had such dismal records.

LOL. Yet another Mittbot who hasn't actually looked into his record the way he asked us to.

The Federal Government Has Been Bailing Out Romneycare, but Who Will Be Available to Bail Out Obamacare?

July 18, 2011 by Dan Mitchell

The important revelation in this new research is the degree to which the system has been propped up by the federal government (i.e., taxpayers in the rest of the nation).

The federal government has spent an additional $2.418 billion on Medicaid for Massachusetts.

The state has been able to shift the majority of the costs to the federal government.

Obama voted for late term abortions

http://www.renewamerica.com/columns/contrada/120308

RomneyCare now funding FREE abortions

When the law was first implemented, there was a $50 copay for a RomneyCare elective surgical abortion. Now RomneyCare abortions are "free" for a $0 copay (or $50-$100 in some plans). In fact, the $0 copay shows up as early as 2008 at the Massachusetts Health Care Connector site.

Of course, the abortions are not exactly free. We, the taxpayers cover the cost, whether we want to or not.

1994: In his U.S. Senate debate with Ted Kennedy, he said: “I believe that abortion should be safe and legal in this country. I have since the time that my mom took that position when she ran in 1970 as a U.S. Senate candidate. I believe that since Roe v. Wade has been the law [sic] for 20 years, that we should sustain and support it. And I sustain and support that law [sic] and the right of a woman to make that choice.”

2002: In his campaign for Governor of Massachusetts, Romney told Planned Parenthood he supported Roe v. Wade, state-funded abortions for low-income women, insurance coverage of contraception, expanded availability of “emergency contraception” (the morning-after abortion pill), buffer zones around abortion clinics, and “age-appropriate sex education” in the schools. He also noted his support for the state law allowing a girl under 18 to bypass her parents and get a judge’s permission for an abortion. “I will preserve and protect a woman’s right to choose and am devoted and dedicated to honoring my word in that regard. I will not change any provisions of Massachusetts’ pro-choice laws,” he said in a debate. (See another of his unequivocal pledges in this video.) He picked a pro-abortion running mate for Lt. Governor.

Sadly some people haven’t figured it out yet. Voting for Newt or Paul is exactly what the Romney camp is hoping conservatives will do.
