I recently read David Horowitz’s autobiography, “Radical Son.” This is going on the very short list of books that shape my perspective on events in a comprehensive way, with Thomas Sowell’s “Knowledge and Decisions” and John Gatto’s “Underground History of American Education.”
Whittaker Chambers’s “Witness” did the same for many readers a generation or so older than I. Horowitz is older than I am, but younger than my parents, and his book describes the events of my lifetime in a unique way.
I call him “Trayvon Vom Rath”, after Ernst Vom Rath, whose killing was the trigger for Kristallnacht.
