TRENDING: Santorum video: 'Obamaville' is a house of horrors (CNN commenters are enraged at video)
CNN ^ | 3/24/12 | CNN Political Unit

Crows perch on spindly trees. Barren streets and empty swing sets. An antiquated wall clock. A playground carousel spinning slowly with an eerie screech.

The visuals conjure a horror film or the old TV series, "The Twilight Zone."

But the collection of spine-tingling scenes pervades Rick Santorum's new web video trailer about life under the Obama administration.

"...that video doesn’t even make sense. No one would ever accuse Santorum of being gay friendly."

Look up "Santorum" on urbandictionary.com and it will make sense. It won't be pleasant, but it will make sense.

Santorum was the target of one of the first widespread google bombs, and this is the fallout. It's funny to them because they think everybody understands their *joke*.

That’s my take on it.

The short is supposed to illustrate a hypothetical town after four more years of Øbongo. The problem is that in many respects it is showing the lay of the land as it exists right now. This scenario is long past “what if”.

CNN and their trained monkeys are up in arms because they refuse to admit that this is what they’ve done to our country. In mindless lockstep and blind partisanship the commenters at CNN lash out at everyone and everything....except themselves. They still lamely blame Bush for every ill, even while intoning, “a president can’t singlehandedly control (the price of gas)”. Their president has had three and a half years to show his stuff and the nation is worse off in every respect for it.

Santorum’s video shows the stark truth - and maybe holds back a little. Another round of the Poseur in Chief and we won’t have to wait four years for open warfare in the streets.

I don’t like it. It has non-existent facts, and is meant to hit at a visceral, emotional level alone. I think it is manipulative and something I would expect of the other side.

Disappointing because Santorum is my candidate at this point.

**
Agreed. It’s baseless at the basic level. It’s overly emotional — almost a parody. Too much.

Just like Santorum’s candicacy will be. We all know Santorum stands for the right ideas, but the way he articulates them comes off as offensive.

We need Newt. Newt’s gasoline campaign is much more focused, factual, and realistic on an issue that affects all of us.

I made the mistake at the very first Thanksgiving dinner I was invited to at my brother’s house after he got married of getting into it with my SIL. Dyed in the wool MSLSD watcher, whackjob left radio listener.

My brother told me when they got their new car and programmed in their favorite satellite radio stations that she put in her preferences for Left radio. He made sure to put in the “Patriot Radio” right next to it.

Mind you, he’s not particularly ideological - he sees me that way I am sure.

The map is a great illustration on how Romney could win in the general and Santorum can't.

Obama won last time primarily through the votes on the coasts - where Romney is the strongest. Santorum and Newt are great candidates but wouldn't win the general (think sheeple) considering the moderate leaning independents on the coasts.

Not to take them granted but the folks in the conservative middle of the country and south will go Republican. Romney can win in the Democratic strongholds.

I'd prefer a Newt type (without the baggage) but anyone but Obama is the mantra.

Combine the images from this video with the numbers from this post, and we'd have a video the dems would be hard pressed to answer.

You are right, but sadly, the adults are no longer in charge of this race and the result will be a disaster.

Childish sycophancy and emotionalism used to be only for Democrats, not Conservatives, but it looks like that has changed dramatically.

Yeah right, there is as much a chance of that happening as there is of Obama becoming “born again” tomorrow. The claims are so ridiculous that you know it has to be a member of the “WH-sockpuppet-blogger brigade”.

Its actually quite funny as no sane person would ever assert such things. I can’t even give them points for trying and this quote from Billy Madison totally sums it up:

“.....what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.”

Nixon did win re-election in 1972. His mistakes had little to do with making the MSM unhappy, everything to do with overkill.

Yep - I’m living that commercial right now! I live in Alameda County - probably just about the most leftist county in the country (Home of Berkeley and Oakland..).

We’ve had dozens of both large and small businesses go under in the last 12 months. Many friends have been out of work for better than 2 years. I was un-employed for 6 months! Looked for work EVERY day. My wife is now working 3 jobs. She had been a stay-at-home Mom until Obama became president. My insurance has a $4K deductible/year before they start paying. I just had to re-schedule my Dr. Appointment. So it’s way more expensive and access is being delayed.

Some will say - serves me right for living where I do. Well - I’m in the electronics industry, and this is where the jobs are...so this is a fate I’m suffering for choosing my major in college 30 years ago. Who knew?

Are you really wringing your hands over a video that’s not even going to air as a commercial? Playing nicey nice with this communist will guarantee his reelection.

I think it is time to acknowledge that the tactics of the democrats work much better than those of the republicans.
Santorum doesn’t have a real shot of winning in a general election so it’s good that he’s playing the role of the attack dog while the other more serious candidates can work for the nomination.

Right, and Watergate was the Press’ opening. And the Press was responsible for everything that followed. They would not let go of it until Nixon was thoroughly destroyed. It ever resonated beyond Ford, and was what gave us Carter.

You are living in a dream world, if you think it had nothing to do with making the MSM unhappy.

You must be reading me wrong. I am not “wringing” my hands what so ever. I am pointing out the difference between using a thoughtful and logical approach.

This video is just childish, and has absolutely no class. This is what will backfire on all of us. We will all be labeled and associated with this kind of juvenile rhetoric.

It has the Press especially angered and riled up, when we cannot afford it. They will use it against us. You can guarantee it.
