There were some freepers who also said he was to old to get a new heart. My wish for him is a speedy recovery and may he live a long life with his new heart

That is the thing with privately funded care. Nobody but you and your doctor get a say. If someone else pays (government, insurance), they will have a lot of say.

Those freepers are braindead! Who else gets heart transplants other than very ill heart patients and the elderly? And in today’s world, 71 ain’t that old. It was reported that Cheney waited two years for the transplant. Politicizing medicine evil beyond belief.

At 71, he could have a lot of good years ahead and hopefully he will continue to bless our nation with his wisdom and service.

I have left-wing associates who for years have spewed the most vial venom toward VP Cheney.

I am sure they will be insufferable over this, and I will call them callous, heartless and vile.

What is going on at FR? or has it always been this way? What business is it of theirs? They sound like good little commie/marxists with that attitude. Although it's another subject and I don't know your viewpoint, but the Zimmerman/Martin case is another astounding issue on here with FReepers ready to join the hoodie gangs and hang the man. Some of those commenting completely distorted the known facts that have been published.

May this new heart give Cheney another 50 years of tormenting them all!! God Bless Dick Cheney.

I second your wish for Mr. Cheney to have many more happy years.

Now that he’s got a new ticker, he should invite Harry Reid on a hunting trip (LOL).

My guess is that Cheney has known for a long time that a heart transplant was inevitable, if available and that if there was an age limit, he would have been put on the list sooner.

I did a little research and the heart pump that Cheney had inserted in 2010, only helps for two years.

There was a time when I thought 71 was old.

That time has passed.

Dick Cheney was not pushed to the front of the line; he waited 20 months. I’m glad for him. He served our country well in both business and politics. He’s a fine man.

I hope he lives another 10 years with a good heart.
