Police: Zimmerman says Trayvon decked him with one blow then began hammering his head
Orlando Sentinel ^ | March 26, 2012 | Rene Stutzman

Posted on 03/26/2012 8:41:12 AM PDT by maggief

With a single punch, Trayvon Martin decked the Neighborhood Watch volunteer who eventually shot and killed the unarmed 17-year-old, then Trayvon climbed on top of George Zimmerman and slammed his head into the sidewalk several times, leaving him bloody and battered, authorities have revealed to the Orlando Sentinel.

That is the account Zimmerman gave police, and much of it has been corroborated by witnesses, authorities say.

Zimmerman has not spoken publicly about what happened, but that night, Feb. 26, and in later meetings he described and re-enacted for police what he says happened.

In his version of events, he had turned around and was walking back to his SUV when Trayvon approached him from behind, the two exchanged words then Trayvon punched him in the nose, sending him to the ground, and began beating him.

Alice in Wonderland said: "Zimmerman was a renter. Would he or the owner of his unit be responsible? "

In the jurisdiction with which I am familiar, the owner would be responsible for making sure that his tenant obeys the rules. Fines, if any, would be levied against the owner and might eventually be paid by foreclosing on the owner.

I can see the possibility that some jurisdictions might have laws which protect the tenant in some ways. Basically, when one owns a condominium, one is entering into a contract with all the other unit owners to manage the jointly owned property according to an agreed upon set of bylaws.

I've seen cases of unit owners explaining that they didn't bother to read the bylaws before purchasing. Such people get no sympathy from the other owners.

From his brother.

Read the tweet history of the poor little innocent thug wanna-be.

Unguarded posts/tweets reflect the soul of the thug, and his tweets show you he had a dark soul and was a remarkable narcissist and misogynist.

I posted a reply to your request for a link. That’s what people do, provide links.

You chose to mock the source but did not challenge the veracity of his own brothers tweet. So, either the brother is lying or the thug lied about assaulting a bus driver.

In either case, the credibility of the thug or his brother is in question. Who to believe? Either his brother was making up a tweet about assaulting a bus driver or the thug was making up a lie about assaulting a bus driver and his brother bought into the lie. Someone is lying, either the thug or his brother.

Now you have a choice, since you are not going to change my mind (facts will), and I will not change your mind. . .so we are left with this last choice of yours—reply to this post in a lame attempt to enter into a pointless argument or do the adult thing and let it go. . .accepting the fact we disagree.

I’m betting you don’t do the adult thing but instead go the immature route and provide a snarky reply. I’m betting I’m right about you.

Prove me wrong.

Sorry, I thought you were going to direct me to the Miami-dade Clerk of the Court’s site.

After all, according to the Florida Statutes (Title XLVI, Chapter 784) an “assault” is an intentional, unlawful threat by word or act to do violence to the person of another, coupled with an apparent ability to do so, and doing some act which creates a well-founded fear in such other person that such violence is imminent and whoever commits an assault shall be guilty of a misdemeanor of the second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083.

Surely, the sheriff/police would be involved in a violent incident, don’t you think?

Instead you send me to a link that has images from a twitter account. Even if it is an actual account, what does it have to do with the events on the evening of February 26th?

A musician who needs cymbals is chatting w/me at facebook. I went to Trayvon FB page, got to the link and my pc froze. My pc needs a good defragmenting and disk cleanup. Looks like the video is of the New Witness, a girl who saw George Zimmerman pinning down Trayvon before the cops arrived.

What if Trayvon was still alive when Zimmerman had him pinned face down? Maybe Trayvon would have been alive had he been face up? Face down would have caused Trayvon to bleed out from a chest wound. Zimmerman didn't try to stop the bleeding imo.

It REAllY botherrs me that George Zimmerman didn’t take the time to call the paramedics after he shot Trayvon. I guess Zimmerman acted as the coroner too deciding Trayvon was dead. Zimmerman was wearing too many hats and he must come up on some charges. He had a duty to call for paramedics and an ambulance subequently to his original call to the cops. A duty to call 911 instead of pinning Trayvon face down. Where are our freeper medical experts? Seems to be a person would bleed out from the chest if they were face down. Face up, sticking a “hoodie” in the wound may have controlled the bleeding? Freeper medical experts are silent on the manner of Trayvon’s death. I’d like to know about Trayvon face down hastening his death and why George Z. pinned him face down. I guess even a possibly dying Trayvon was a threat to vigilante George.

“Zimmerman sat on Trayvon’s dead body until the cops got there. There’s video of that but never mind. Zimmerman had some things going on in his mind that led him to be overzealous. An HOA “guest” is dead. They will be sued. Hope they go bankrupt and some sleazy bank buys the whole complex. I know what HOAs can and cannot do. Shooting people while volunteering is a can’t. This is a big civil deal too.”

Everything you said there, is not right.

There is no video. You knew that? “Hope they go bankrupt and some sleazy bank buys the whole complex.” Whatever.

It is not a "law" but it is 100% clear: patrol members are not carry weapons, have no police power, and should not attempt to apprehend a person committing a crime or to investigate a suspicious activity.

Since you seem to ignore as many facts as possible, here are a few more that you continue to ignore:
1) Zimmerman was NOT on watch at the time of this incident - he was running a personal errand when he saw someone who he thought was suspicious. Therefore ALL the guidelines, rules, protocols, etc... for Neighborhood Watch mean exactly - ZILCH.
2) Everything which Zimmerman was doing that night - watching Martin, following Martin, questioning Martin - was COMPLETELY legal - the police have already stated as such.

Baggies is a brand name of plastic bags. The word “baggies” is often used in the generic sense to refer to any plastic sandwich bag.

Here’s a pretty good product review of Baggies. http://dumbreviews.blogspot.com/2010/10/review-plastic-baggies.html . (ignore the URL which suggests it’s a dumb review. It’s actually quite witty.)

“A tweet??? Oh, okay ... LOL”

I just wanted you to know, Alice, that this is the post which negated your entire case. Last night I was following this thread, and I found your comments interesting. You appeared to be providing relevant information, and I made the mistake of thinking you might be objective, trustworthy and/or just very well informed.

Then you challenged the assertion that Trayvon had attacked a bus driver. Your request for a link was provided. At that point you had a choice: admit Trayvon did indeed have violence in his past, or go full on Saul Alinsky and mock the info and its provider.

As soon as you chose B, I revised my opinion of you and all your info. Turns out you're so biased, you could pass for Trayvon’s mother. Iow, a reliable source of info you Are Not.

What on earth kind of question is, ‘A tweet?’ What century do you live in, that you don't know what a tweet is??? Or if you know, what possessed you to be so smart...alecky about it? Yes, of course ‘a tweet’. It's how people of Trayvon’s age communicate, duh. He tweeted to his brother, evidently re: his suspension, and his brother tweeted back. It's obvious from the latter that Trayvon attacked his bus driver.

If you can't or won't see that, then why pretend you're anything but neck deep in Trayvon’s Kool Aid? Iow, if your narrative is, ‘Trayvon is the innocent victim and Zimmermman is evil’, and you ignore and dismiss any fact--yes, fact—that interferes w your narrative, your credibility is exactly zero.

If you're smart, you'll take my comments to heart. The next time you're trying to make a factual case, be more respectful of info that contradicts your narrative. If your only tool is mockery, you will lose any and all objective observers who, like myself, had previously vested you w integrity.

Fwiw.

I really don’t care what you think of me. Actually, it’s pretty sad that you’ll base your opinion on what I say or don’t say. Maybe you should do your own research instead.

As another FReeper has stated, this site has become “Smear Trayvon Central”. Anyone who hasn’t jumped on the bandwagon, anyone with a question or a view differing from the herd is immediately lambasted, insulted and called names by their fellow FReepers, including you: ‘I could pass for Trayvon’s mother’. WTH? Don’t you think if Trayvon attacked his bus driver there would have been criminal charges? I will admit Trayvon had violent past, if and when it is proven … and a tweet is not proof. Just as a baggie with marijuana residue is not 'proof' that he was a drug dealer.

These are some of the tweets have been presented on this site as ‘proof’ of Trayvon’s violence: F*ck these haters I’ll kill ‘em all if I could! … puss ass crackas … BOB MARLEY, Y U NO SHOOT THE DEPUTY?

They’re lines from songs! It’s Rap, maybe not the music you and I listen to, but music all the same.

"F*ck these haters / I'd kill 'em all if I could / Ain't scared of none of y'all, so you know my aim's good / Blowin Bin Laden, yeah my Porsche 9/11 / Just left Ground Zero on my way to kush heaven." by Jeezy

"Puss ass cracker give a nigga a hundred years / Have ya mama leavin' out the courtroom in tears / Crackers don't love to have a nigga breathin' for real / Take a nigga life from him they don't know how it feel." by Lil Boosie

Since it peaked to Bilboard's #1 song in 1974, I thought everyone knew Bob Marley's song "I shot the sheriff / but I didn't shoot no deputy". Even Eric Clapton did a version of it.

There have also been ‘gangsta’ photos of Trayvon posted on this site as ‘proof’ that Trayvon was a thug and that George did the world a favor by killing him. The moderators have been busy deleting many of them as they are of a different Trayvon. Here are some photos of the boy taken on February 17th, a mere nine days before his death:

Thank you, Alice. Most here BUT you are in a real wonderland. The recent pictures of Trayvon belong here at Free Republic. Trayvon and his family were free once, before Trayvon was shot.

Free Republic = free speech even if you think a 17 year victim of a gunshot wound to the chest is to blame for his murder.

Blaming a 17 year old who is put in a freezer for 3 days before trying to identify him after he's murdered in a gated community is what's not right.

There were six kids tresspassping in our pool today. Going by the George Zimmerman standard operating procedures, I could have gone to the pool and shot at least one of them before the cops got here. Our cops are real slow cuz this is the border of two cities. I would claim self defense. Those treaspassing boys were up to no good and I was afraid they were gonna drown me so I shot one. Last summer they ALWAYS GOT AWAY. Those ***holes.

If a white person was walking in a black neighborhood, and a black guy started following him and demanding to know what he was doing there, would that be ok with FReepers? I doubt it.

If the black guy was part of a neighborhood watch program instituted because there had been a rash of burglaries in the area committed by white guys, then yeah, I'd be totally cool with it.

“Heard he was suspended for attacking a bus driver. Also heard the suspension was because of a drug baggie. Which is it?”

Both incidents are true, but only the drug part resulted in suspension (I think). His brother’s tweet confirmed the “swinging on a bus driver” part allegation though.
