did both persons have cellphones? which were smartphones?

this should mean a gps type position should be able to pinpoint where the two were standing.

“Don’t get involved”

All it takes for Evil to succeed is for good men to do nothing.

Of course the police and legal authorities want you to not get involved. They like the rise in crime. It justifies their existence and makes their calls for more pay seem reasonable.

When we do things the way that law enforcement wants us to then we usually see crime go through the roof like in NYC or Detroit. The police are a enforcement agency and are never around when the crime is taking place. They show up after the events and write notes and HOPE to catch the guilty. When seconds count the police are minutes away.

I would rather be responsible for my own safety than wait on some union dude in a blue uniform and a badge to leave the doughnut shop and take time to clean up my dead body before he clocks out for the night.

I deal only in facts. You are the one making crap up... all the what ifs etc.

Look I am done talking about this n FR or anywhere else. It is distracting from mnor issues like repealing Ocare and getting conservatives elected and trying to get the federal spending cut.

I have heard the 911 tapes and have read the released reports. I also read the linked article.

There are eyewitness accounts that contradict the witness statement referred to in the story. We also have Zimmerman’s statement “... they always get away.” We have him following after Martin. Not just following in his truck to keep sight of him to report his location to the police but getting out of his truck. That is what is known.

What I would like to see is an exact timeline. Showing the sequence of events and where each person was at the time. I want to see a map of the complex and how the police investigators believe Martin doubled back on Zimmerman (I think that was the term used.) In some reports it is implied that Martin jumped Zimmerman from behind while other witness accounts read that Martin attacked Zimmerman from the front. I want to know at what point Zimmerman left his truck and the route he took to follow Martin on foot. I would also want to know how familiar Martin was with the layout of the complex. All of this information would be valuable in determining whose version of events have the most veracity.

You apparently have not read the article. The witness is NOT Zimmerman. The witness is the man who made a 911 call reporting the attack. He watched this attack and a report was taken by police that night. There were other witnesses as well. You accuse Zimmerman of LYING with n basis in fact. You misstate what the article actually says. AND most egregious you appear to be defending an attacker who viciously beat another human being.

Yes I have read the article. "John" and the other witnesses only saw the fight in progress or the aftermath.

Zimmerman is the only one to give an account on how it started.
(from the article)

There is about a one-minute gap during which police say they're not sure what happened.

Zimmerman told them he lost sight of Trayvon and was walking back to his SUV when Trayvon approached him from the left rear, and they exchanged words.

Trayvon asked Zimmerman if he had a problem. Zimmerman said no and reached for his cell phone, he told police.

And get it through your skull, I am not accusing Zimmermans of LYING when he says he reached for something in his pocket while they were having heated words. That is likely to be the truth. They were arguing, Zimmerman made a threatening move. "Zimmerman acted stupidly"

You must live in a very nice place. The cops I know, and are related to by marriage, don't.

They work in a place with a lot if illegal immigrants and meth addicts. One of my friends lives in that area, and is the brother in law of three cops. He tried to organize a neighborhood watch, until the police told him “We can't protect you, don't get involved. Move if you want to do a Watch”. And they are in the process of moving, after many altercations.

If it is a “protected class”, you have a lot of legal issues to think about.

What do you suppose will happen to those T-shirt sales if it turns out witness reports about Martin bashing Zimmerman's head into the concrete are true?

they honestly don't care. it's about making a scene...

What conflicting witness statements???? Those released and referred to have all aided Zimmerman’s account. You keep making the statement that there are conflicting accounts. No where in the reporting is your comment upheld.

One does not have to be in the process of committing a crime to raise suspicion. In an area where recently burglaries had been committed ( enough so to generate a neighborhood watch), anyone not part of the neighborhood ( particularly in a gated community) would arouse suspicion of all the neighborhood. Calling the police as part of the neighborhood watch in such a case is EXACTLY the right thing to do.

Do not bother to reply I am done.

Hypothetical Scenario:

Joe walks up to Jim.
Joe verbally antagonizes Jim.
Joe pushes Jim.
Joe punches Jim.
Jim finally responds. Jim pushes Joe.

Jim starts beating the c**p out of Joe.

Joe feels life is threatened.
Joe pulls out gun and shoots Jim. In self-defense.

Did Joe act in self-defense?

How about now?

As soon as Zimmerman left his vehicle to follow the young adult, he became the aggressor. Regardless of intent, Zimmerman placed himself in a confrontational position by doing so.
By confronting the young adult and putting himself in danger, Zimmerman cannot use 'self-defense' as an excuse for shooting the young adult.
Any of you that have a CCW permit understand the language and trouble you get into instigating a fight.

What probably happened is you have a young adult(Trayvon) in an unfamiliar neighborhood(remember he was staying with the father's GF), confronted by someone asking a lot of questions and moving threateningly. If you are Trayvon, what do you do?

You defend yourself.

The tragedy is that Zimmerman put himself in a position that resulted in the death of another. That's manslaughter.

Even if that is what Z said, he never said it to T. If we can barely make out what Z was muttering, then how on earth could T have hear it if he was not even close by.

He may very well be cleared as acting in self-defense in the criminal realm. However I suspect his days in civil court will be long and costly.

And no matter the outcome expect continued race baiting to continue by the obama and the other race hustlers.

How about
Joe thought Jim was acting suspiciously so he followed Jim and called the Police.
Police told Joe to not follow.
Joe went back to the truck
Jim confonted Joe asking him if he had a problem.
Jim punched Joe in the face
Jim Slammed Joes head in concrete
Joe was on the ground yelling for help because Joe was beating him selseless.
Joe felt threatened and defended himself by using him gun.

Was Joe in the right to defend himself?

You are right, the facts no longer matter.

The way things are going now, Zimmerman may be killed before he can be put on trial. If that happens, within 48 hours the mainstream media will have lost interest in the story.

I just wonder how much the White House or Media Matters is involved in pumping up this story. Sandra Fluke was to fire up the feminist part of the Obama base; the focus on the death of Treyvon Martin is to fire up the African American voters.

“Joe walks up to Jim.
Joe verbally antagonizes Jim.
Joe pushes Jim.
Joe punches Jim.”

Please explain when this happened, because this has not been indicated on any news source or police report I have read.

“Joe’ never walked up to Jim. Jim Walked up to Joe while Joe was heading back to his vehicle as advised by the 911 dispatcher.
