Ping.
Progressivism and the ruling class in action:
1. The general population faces a sparse holiday because of high unemployment and high underemployment and home forclosures.
The first family enjoys a million dollar vacation in Hawaii at taxpayer expenense, the aforementioned general population.
2. Historically high unemployment throughout the nation and declining personall income.
Employment in the Capitol (D.C.) is booming and income increasing.
3. Families faced with $4.00/gal gasoline
The first family flying luxury jets all over the country and the world at taxpayer expense. In fact often flying multiple jets so Mommy and the kids can leave in the morning and not have to wait for Daddy in the afternoon.
Conservatives have to be ready for a civil war to protect our way of life. The civil war has already started as a cold civil war. If the progressives do not willingly step back from their aggressiveness, it’s only a matter of time until people start killing one another and the hot war will be on.
Who knows? Maybe Breitbart was the first step in that direction. The hysteria over Trayvon certainly indicates the Left wants to keep pushing us toward a race war, for starters.
Obama seems intent on pushing us toward civil war in order to be re-elected. My advice: Load up on armaments and ammunition. Have alternative places to live away from the big cities. Develop methods of communication with like-minded people. I don’t think anyone has really begun to prepare for what may be coming our way.
Look at the assault on the Catholic Church. You would think we were about to enter another Hundred Years War between Christians and the radical left and their minions.
Bttt
Given the ax Mr. James seeks to grind, I don't see what The Hunger Games has to do with it. Especially after he admits, "To be fair, I have not actually read the full trilogy."
It's a story about a dystopian future. The author does not dwell on how the environment came about. She hints the US has been subjected to a cataclysmic event, but gives no details.
Mr. James, get a grip, it's just a story. Enjoy it for what it is and quit trying to read between the lines.
sounds like Baby Doc Duvalie (sp?)
I find it funny all the progressive women on my FB account seem to be celebrating this movie.
Too stupid to realize they’re stupid?
I watched it this afternoon. I may have to sharpen my bow skills.
saw the movie too and agree with your assessment...there are many more than you may believe who are getting very fearful of the direction this pos is leading us to...he didn’t start it...the progressives have been attempting to head us that way for years but he has been turning up the heat by double digits for the last three years to make it happen in very quick order...it can not continue without some strong repercusions and push back!
Many progressive women are opposed in principle to Big Government. They identify it as Rick Santorum and Rush Limbaugh taking away their birth control, when that is only a small symptom of the real threat: take a government's money, and you must eventually do its bidding.
This principle applies to everything from student loans to government support for the arts to tax-deferred retirement accounts to "free" public schools and healthcare - all wildly popular with progressives.
It is The Running Man with teen romance.
I agree. We have to keep our Gov’t off their body when it comes to killing unborn children but they’ll be damned if I eat those french fries.
My son has an exceedingly accurate Mathews compound bow and lots of arrows. Incredible accuracy. We have others, but I am not quite as good at it as my son is.
But, I don't need to be. I have guns and reload ammo. We have lots of wild game here. Deer, hogs, turkey, quail, dove, good fishing in our pond.
We farm. Have on farm grain storage and cleaning equipment. We have a nice orchard, which I expanded greatly last year. I have blackberries, strawberries, grapes, blueberries (not well adapted here). The plum trees are loaded. The peach and apple trees are beginning to bud out. The apricot trees are just beginning to bloom. I think it will be a good year.
On the farm we have a meat processing building. Walk-in box, commercial butcher's band saw, meat slicer and sausage mill. We have several friends who process their wild game there, as well as the family.
The Progressives, Commies, Marxists and the other rabble will take some serious losses if they think they can subject Texas. Won't happen.
In private hands in Texas there are 2+ guns for every man, woman and child in the state. It would be a very serious mistake for outsiders to even think about trying to change that.
Talk is cheap. Outsiders are slowly taking over your state in the form of illegal aliens/immigrants. What are you doing about that?
Another thought from watching Hunger Games:
* People are fenced into their designated areas and not allowed in the woods, although they are clearly hungry. I think the term for this was “Agenda 21”.
* Hunting isn’t allowed, though the designation of districts and views in the movie suggest most of the land is fallow. People starving is not as important as preserving nation.
* The dominant form of entertainment and news is ONE WAY, via television. No debates, no discussion, no public forums. It’s like the liberal MSM wants it - everyone watches the TV screen at the designated time to get their propaganda.
Most of the “immigrants” came here to get away from the socialist crap, the lefties congregate around Austin and some Houston subs. They talk a lot, but generally are totally worthless and harmless.
Most of the “illegals” are happy to be here and afraid to get in trouble and have to go back to the crap holes in Mexico or worse.
Now the few real bad guys. Well we generally deal with them. Our criminal justice system still has a death penalty for those who show no respect for human life.
NOW, what part of the U.S. are you from? Or is it somewhere else you call home?
I am half-way thru the 2nd book and have seen the movie. To add to your list with items that are in Book 2:
Power and TV are limited and unreliable in the Districts, but the mayor has a special access channel to real news that apparently never drops the signal.
The Games are mandatory viewing, but there is a kill switch and some things can be blacked out if the Gamesmaster or the President so desire. Mandatory history is being manipulated and rewritten for the masses, including those in Capitol.
The barriers around the Districts are electrified, but District 12 (the heroine’s home) is sparsely populated and in Book 1, the fence is not always on. However, once the PTB are concerned, the fence is electrified at all times. Other Districts are more heavily secured. The game in the areas outside the barrier are actually referred to as “Capitol’s game”.
Medications and doctors are in short supply, but the mayor of a District gets nearly unlimited painkillers for his wife.
I am sure there are more such incidents to be revealed.
Amazing how so many conservatives are willingly accepting the premise that a girl is the top dog of the ladder as far as being the hero.
I have not read the book, and do not plan on watching the move, because in reality, whenever a battle of any kind that includes death for the losers and life for the winners, the women, girls will ALWAYS LOSE!
However, in today’s emasculated society, even in movies conservatives hail as great, a woman is portrayed as the hero.
Sorry, I’ll put in an old Chuck Norris/Silvester Stallone/ Bruce Willis/Mel Gibson/John Wayne type move where men are portrayed as real men while a women is portrayed as a woman that needs men to protect them like in reality.
Try as they want, America is not France. The American heroes that won wars and still do are the men, while the ladies have in the past, and still do today, support their men.
