Trayvon Martin threatened to kill George Zimmerman, Zimmerman's father says

TAMPA - The father of 28-year-old George Zimmerman spoke out Wednesday night. In an exclusive interview with FOX 35's Valerie Boey, Robert Zimmerman says he and his family have gotten thousands of death threats.

He asked that his face not be shown as he explained what happened the night his son shot and killed Trayvon Martin.

Robert Zimmerman says George Zimmerman was going to the store when he saw someone he did not recognize as living in the community.

"Because there have been a lot of break-ins in the area, he thought that was suspicious that someone would not be walking on the street or the sidewalk. That he'd be walking by the town homes," Zimmerman said.

But the Governor who assigned this to the State Attorney is a Republican.

Exactly. As long as Obama can get the eyes off our domestic and world problems and onto stuff like this, then he can rest easy. Have all the headlines on this thug beating a guy nearly to death and the guy having to shoot the kid thinking that if I don’t, I may die here myself. That would have been what I would have done also. If I had been jumped and was on the ground and someone was beating me and trying to kill me, then yes, I would shoot him and worry about it later. This Zimmerman guy is basically lucky to be alive. Or this street thug, who got kicked out of school, and is the president’s long lost son, is some kind of hero.

What the hell are you talking about??? When things like this happen, parents have a tendency to defend their kids. Lots of emotion involved. Of course Martins parents will say he’s innocent. Of course Zimmermans parents will say he’s innocent. What the hell you expect them to say? You expect Martins parents to say he deserved to be shot? You expect Zimmermans parents to say he murdered Martin and he should die for it? You just go on and twist my words into some gigantic conspiracy.
