TAMPA - The father of 28-year-old George Zimmerman spoke out Wednesday night. In an exclusive interview with FOX 35's Valerie Boey, Robert Zimmerman says he and his family have gotten thousands of death threats.

He asked that his face not be shown as he explained what happened the night his son shot and killed Trayvon Martin.

Robert Zimmerman says George Zimmerman was going to the store when he saw someone he did not recognize as living in the community.

"Because there have been a lot of break-ins in the area, he thought that was suspicious that someone would not be walking on the street or the sidewalk. That he'd be walking by the town homes," Zimmerman said.

You know, it amazing; when I first started posting about the Straits there was almost no news of the crime on the net. Now it’s everywhere. Everybody has it on their blog.

I’d have thought that freeprs and conservatives would have stopped watching the likes of ABC, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, Good morning America, Today show, Ellen, Oprah, late night shows etc .

It’s known that they tell lies and are biased and corrupt and yet you did, plus added to their ratings.

Seems you got taken in by them.

Just bidness as usual for the propaganda division of Lenin's Vanguard Elite - perched securely, temporarily, within their DC Monolith.

--12 Sept 2009, Washington D.C.; Useful Idiots within the MSM's Vanguard Elite look down upon some unexpected visitors to their fifedom.

"It's important to note that the vanguard elite are, for Lenin, not just a thoretical category to explain the development of political strategies, but a specific grouping of special individuals who must be identified and trained distinctly form the broad mass of the population"
--New perpsectives on anarchism

Special? No. We know they are but ridiculously pedigreed and inbred Vultures who facilitate anarchy and then feed from the rotting corpse of everything they infect.

And so the faster we can render them irrelevant, the better. Let them wave to the smiling backsides of our lifted kilts for a while -- before will rebuild a FRee American Republic without them.

I wonder, if Zimmerman is shown to be telling the truth, do you think he can bring a lawsuit against the media, or certain people in the media, who deliberately lied about details, or mislead the public, with the intend of causing him appear guilty; thus inciting many viewers and readers to make threats against him and his family. Examples of this would be the new black panthers putting a bounty of one million dollars on his head, calls to his home making threats...

light humor:

When scrolling down this photo, at first glance that bike looks like a giant horned beetle going for Mr Zimmerman's head.

On a serious note:

That gash looks nasty. I thought it'd be lower down his head, not on top. The location is disturbing. I hope he didn't have a concussion and his neck/spine is fine.

I don't know if he can sue the media. But, I'm wondering why hate crime charges haven't been filed against the NBP, Spike Lee, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, etc.

Bowbama & Eric Holder, that's why!

Or the two white visitors from Great Britain murdered because they didn’t have enough money on them when he tried to rob them - or maybe just because they were white - by Sean “Savage” Tyson (a black by the way) in Florida a few days back - or student white John Sanderson, shot to death in his U of Mississippi dorm, by two black intruders last week - bigotry? double standard? racism? - you bet......

Libel is a defamatory and untrue statement about a living person or existing institution. Lbel injures reputation by exposing a person to public hatred, shame, disgrace or ridicule.

Libel is one of the most significant dangers in the media professions and for citizen-publishers.

A libel suit is a civil case (not criminal in the US or Europe). Allegations of libel in the mass media or on the Internet usually stem from articles that allege immorality, loathesome disease, crime, dishonesty or misconduct. People often sue to restore their reputations and to correct what they view as a falsehood, regardless of personal expense or the legal merits of their cases.

What is libel? The following elements have to be present:

1. Identification of a person or very small group of individually identifyable people allegedly defamed.

Note that there are two kinds of identification — direct (Per Se ) and indirect (Per Quod). Direct identification in libel names a person specifically. Indirect libel may be a circumstance or mistake that can be construed as holding a person up to ridicule, such as congratulating a woman on her pregnancy when she is not married.

2. Publication, broadcast or wide dissemination of defamatory material (Wide dissemination falls under libel; slander is neighborhood gossip).
3. Defamation, defined as untrue words that tend to harm a person’s reputation or expose them to hatred, contempt or ridicule. Defamation means that a statement actually harms the reputation of another person, rather than being merely insulting or offensive
4. Fault on the part of the publisher or broadcaster, such as negligence or malice. It can’t merely be false, as the court said in Gertz v. Welch (below).
5. Damages — The plaintiff has to prove they were damaged, either directly (loss of income) or indirectly (proveable pain and suffering). A court may also impose puntive (punishment) damages on a defendant found guilty of defamation. In other tort areas, such as copyright infringement, there may be statutory damages that are specifically set out in a law (statute).

a) special (direct) damages / direct quantifiable out of pocket expenses or losses
b) general (indirect) damages — compensation for non-monetary damages such as pain and suffering.

Defamation, libel, and slander are related terms that refer to harm done to reputation or character through untrue, twisted, or malicious statements. Issues regarding these concepts may be as simple as high school gossip or as complicated as corporate litigation for defamation. Generally, defamation is the act of harming reputation through untrue or malicious statements, while libel and slander are considered forms or methods of defamation.

Reputation is incredibly important in human civilization; defamation lawsuits do not merely handle the hurt feelings of a person or entity, but instead attempt to determine if there is grounds for monetary damages based on actual harm caused. For instance, if a person states factually to the media that all of the products sold by a company are tainted with lead, that company may lose customers and stock value even if the statement is untrue or twisted. If the statement could be shown to be malicious and misleading, the person making the statement could be sued for defamation.

Libel is the term used to describe defamation when it is made in print or through written communication. Generally, the information must be given to a third party and published publicly; a person usually cannot be sued for libel for something he or she writes in a personal diary, for instance. It is also necessary for the libelous statement to cause measurable harm. A written lie that causes no damages may be a violation of integrity, but is usually not grounds for a lawsuit.

I couldn’t agree with you more. I likewise have not watched the old MSM in well over a decade and even Fox News doesn’t interest me much now. FR has become the number one place to come for nearly everything I want to know about. Even local events to some extent. Having multiple views from people of all levels of society and experience analyze and opine on the news of the day is 1,000Xs more interesting and informative than the old MSM and its plastic templated narrative.

It is difficult, though. It requires that we pay attention, REALLY pay attention and give some thought to it.

And even then, we can come to the wrong conclusions. Good thing is, if one can keep an open mind to ones own inevitable fallibility, it makes the process easier.
