Democrats fear health reform failure

When Barack Obama signed the Affordable Care Act into law two years ago, the long-held dream of the American left to move towards some form of universal healthcare coverage became reality.

But the hearings this week on the constitutionality of its key provision – the requirement for individuals to purchase coverage or pay a penalty – have led many Democrats to fear they are in for a crushing disappointment.

The Supreme Court will not rule on the validity of the law until June. But the oral arguments exposed a willingness by some justices on the court to consider striking down the mandate. Although they could still decide to uphold it, the mere possibility of it been declared unlawful is dispiriting many of Barack Obama’s political allies.

“If they try to get rid of most of it, it would be a pretty big setback,” says Elise Gould, a health policy analyst at the Economic Policy Institute, a left-leaning think tank based in Washington. “There are components of the law that are already having an impact on people’s lives,” she says.

The biggest powergrab the Democrat have tried to pull off in decades might fail....Democrats are afraid it might take another 10-15years to be able to get that much control over peoples lives.

That’s true. What is amazing is the rats stacked the stuff people would like into the pre-election period. The stuff they will hate starts in 2014. But even the regs that have come out have folks up in arms.

It is Joe, Ya gave hundreds of elected seats back to Republicans, ya lost the House, the big majority in the Senate, lots of Governors, your approval is in the low 40s and now your signature piece looks like its sinking.
Because of this ya woke up Americans who joined local TEA Parties and they are flushing out school boards and becoming involved in local issues that they used to be too busy to bother with. They were your domain Joe.

This is a big &^%*ing deal.

I don’t care what the outcome is. I WILL NOT participate and they can tax me, penalize me, whatever and I won’t budge.

Go ahead, send an armed officer to arrest me. Anyone in law enforcement that would carry out that order is part of the facist regime and so they better bring more than one.

I will defend my Constitutional rights to the death if I have to. And I’ll put my future ordeal on You Tube so the entire country can see what a bunch of brownshirt POS they are.

Make my day!

What did we hear over and over again at the “extremist” Tea Party town hall meetings?

Dems were warned they were violating the constitution and they let it be known, loud and clear, that they don’t have to yeild to the constitution and can do whatever they want to do.

If the Supreme Court does not set limits on the Leftists in both parties, they will not have a job anymore because Marxists don’t need a judicial branch.
