Another $17 trillion surprise found in Obamacare
The Daily Caller ^ | 3/30/12 | Neil Munro

Senate Republican staffers continue to look though the 2010 health care reform law to see what’s in it, and their latest discovery is a massive $17 trillion funding gap.

“The more we learn about the bill, the more we learn it is even more unaffordable than was suspected,” said Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions, the Republican’s budget chief in the Senate.

“The bill has to be removed from the books because we don’t have the money,” he said.

The hidden shortfall between new spending and new taxes was revealed just after Supreme Court justices grilled the law’s supporters about its compliance with the Constitution’s limits on government activity. If the court doesn’t strike down the law, it will force taxpayers find another $17 trillion to pay for the increased spending.

The $17 trillion in extra promises was revealed by an analysis of the law’s long-term requirements. The additional obligations, when combined with existing Medicare and Medicaid funding shortfalls, leaves taxpayers on the hook for an extra $82 trillion in health care obligations over the next 75 years.

Tell Sandra Flake if she lets us keep our $17 trillion, I’ll buy her damn birth control pills for her.

I am predicting it will pass in its entirety. We live in crazy times and this bill is the grand daddy of insanity...so it much perfect sense, in a opposite sort of way, it will pass...

How’s about the Fed just lets us keep the 17mil in the first place... instead of taking from us and THEN returning it to us on their OWN PLAN

$1 trillion dollars would be $1000 bills stacked 67 miles high.

$17 trillion would be $1000 bills stacked 1,139 miles high.

Kill the bill.

I’ve been thinking the same thing but, have been afraid to vocalize it. I thought I was the only one thinking like that.

I will amplify your observations about the sorry state of the GOP with a bit of a rant I offered a couple of days ago regarding John Boehner, et. al:

"(There's) your Republican Party, people: always "going along to get along" while Democrats happily bash their brains in, routinely calling them every mean, nasty, rotten, vicious, incendiary thing they can think of, and then some - should they ever object, even for a moment.

After which: Cryin' John will apologize, because it must be our fault they don't love us. Boo Freakin' Hoo.

Battered Wife Syndrome, anyone?

Well, speaking for the non-masochistic base of the GOP: we've had enough of this Sheeeite.

We desperately need representatives with brass knuckles and brass balls; instead we get a bunch of invertebrate eunuchs; fairy-a**ed, pussifed little wimps who can't take a punch without whining and pouting like Richard Simmons on estrogen supplements."

...and much more in that vein....

Every person who voted for this bill should step down and if they don't we should fire every one of them. They did not do their job. They should have read the bill. They should have had all the figures in mind and they should have figure out what was best for the people.

You drive down the road and you see a house and it has all kinds of kids toys out front, a boat and a couple wave runners off to the side of the nice house, a new 4x4 pickup to pull the boat with sitting in the drive way, maybe a nice camper sitting somewhere, and a new car in the garage, and you think to yourself, “they must be rich”. Most likely, and our great Nation is in the same shape, they are in debt up to their eyeballs. As soon as the economic winds shift in the wrong direction, these people will be getting rid of a lot of stuff.

We can not afford health care right now. If our elected officials would have done their job and kept us out of debt, then we might have been able to afford something else. But we are broke and in debt. And you can thank the political scum bags in Washington DC for that. You can thank them for a health care bill that could sink us. The people on Capital Hill need to be packing and sent packing right now. If the American people keep on re-electing these fork tongued charmers, then we are going to have to sleep in the bed they made. And I don't know about you, but I am not counting on a good nights sleep.

My earlier post was off, its actually 1 quadrillion Another interesting factoid, is that after 1000 trillion (1 quadrillion) we are in really dangerous territory...
There are around 1 - 10 quadrillion ants living on the earth at any given time...

He’s so incompetent it’s starting to get funny. That Obama, what will happen to him next?

If we all sit home to teach the GOP a lesson, WINNING in 2012 is what will happen to him next.

Let the bill stand. Obama will forever be known as the incompetent clown who crashed the economy.

At some point, it is beyond fixing.
