Keith Olbermann Gets Fired by Current TV, Goes Ballistic
Forbes ^ | 3-30-12 | Frederick E. Allen

Former Vice President Al Gore and Joel Hyatt, the heads of Current TV, have just fired their star anchorman, Keith Olbermann, who previously left MSNBC on bad terms. Gore and Hyatt released a statement saying that “the values of respect, openness, collegiality, and loyalty to our viewers . . . are no longer reflected in our relationship with Keith Olbermann and we have ended it.”

According to Talking Points Memo, insiders say Olbermann missed almost half his working days in January and February and insisted on taking an unauthorized vacation day the day before Super Tuesday.

Here is a statement Olbermann just issued. I’d call it going ballistic, albeit in writing:

Keith Olbermann Planning His Exit Long Before He Was Fired

http://www.tmz.com/2012/03/31/keith-olbermann-current-tv-fired/#.T3cr1tmaKAg

Keith Olbermann wanted out of Current TV well before he was fired yesterday because he felt the network was mismanaged and wouldn’t be around much longer ... sources close to Keith tell TMZ.

As TMZ first reported, Keith is planning on filing a lawsuit against the network for his unceremonious dumping yesterday. He released a statement that said in part, “It goes almost without saying that the claims against me implied in Current’s statement are untrue and will be proved so in the legal actions I will be filing against them presently.”

According to our sources, Keith felt the network was a “ragtag operation” that was disorganized and felt thrown together. We’re told Keith felt the entire place was mismanaged ... right down to the office supplies.

On one such occasion, we’re told the staff couldn’t use one of the printers because it was out of toner and they had none in supply. In a staff-wide email obtained by TMZ, a production administrator told the staff, “We expect to have replacement toner in tomorrow and will have a better stock on hand for the future. Sorry for the inconvenience.”

To Keith’s point ... they couldn’t even fire him without a giant mistake. In Current TV’s press release to announce that Eliot Spitzer would be taking over for Olbermann, they provided a Twitter account for Spitzer that is not his. The real Eliot Spitzer doesn’t have a Twitter account.

Does anybody get Current TV? I subscribe to every channel except HBO, Showtime, etc. and the Spanish language ones and don’t have it. Apparently I get OWN, but not in HD.

If I do I've never seen it. I'd rather watch A Real Housewives show than anything made by Algore.

I think he’s been laying low. Maybe he gained another 100 pounds and doesn’t want to be seen.

More than likely he knows he’s been exposed for what he is and is in seclusion.

“Fired from Current TV...isn’t that like being thrown out of a basement window?”

One thing’s for certain. Olbermann is finished in the TV biz. Can’t imagine ANYONE hiring this fruitcake at this point. Oh, he may appear on the occasional self-published youtube clip, along with another hundred billion unknown bozos, many of whom will get far more hits that KO. But that’s probably about it for KO. And radio already has one Ed Schultz, do it probably doesn’t need another one.

I don’t think so. You have to show up for work to be successful. I guess all of his followers can stare at a blank screen!

I wouldn’t mind a sports broadcast where he stars — maybe something like the PreColumbian precursor of basketball, only it would be KO’s head going through the hoop.

Oberman's bio at Wiki sheds a little light on Oberman's radical liberalism and related stupidity - - it is likely the result of brain damage.
No Joke.

Olbermann suffers from a mild case of coeliac disease, as well as restless legs syndrome. In August 1980, he also suffered a head injury while "leaping" onto the NYC subway. This head injury permanently upset his equilibrium, resulting in his avoidance of driving.

I realize that God teaches that we are not to take joy in the suffering of our enemies. I pray that He will allow me this exception....

I know someone who worked with Olbermann at MSNBC. Everyone hated being around him. (I say everyone meaning the set people.) He was obnoxious, loud and insulting. She said if a conservative was on the set he would almost lose it everytime. They all knew months in advance he was going to get the boot. He was the only one in denial.

Ed Schultz is the same way. He has a weird hair thing. His hair can’t be touched or has to be a certain way. Means to me he probably has very little. (Hair that is) He only allows certain people to be around him or do things for him.

Maddow is nice to everyone on the set.

I get the channel. Perhaps it’s a “reward” for shelling out for HBO and some other movie channels. Evidently Olbermann just became insufferable (surprise, surprise), but he’d been Current’s ratings leader and had brought them from infinitesimal ratings, to puny. Now it’s sure to be a quick trip back to infinitesimal since they’ve given his time slot to Eliot “The Undertaker” Spitzer. Watching that man on tv is like being embalmed. Say what you will about Olbermann: he kept it lively with his rabid Schnauzer antics, and that in itself brings in some viewers.

Is it just me, or does Olbermann rant sound like Charlie Sheen’s rant? Drugs?

The only thing that differentiated him from his fellow leftist losers was that he had a better vocabulary.

He also really knows his baseball.

They hate him so bad there that they don't invite him to reunion shows!
