Which Neighbors Have Concealed Weapons Permits?
RedwoodCityPatch ^ | March 30 2012 | Stacie Chan

In light of an alleged self-defense killing of 17-year-old unarmed Trayvon Martin by neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman, Florida’s concealed weapons laws have been thrust into the spotlight. Most residents can obtain concealed weapons permits, according to state law.

In California, in contrast, residents must contact their local police department or county Sheriff’s Office, as rules differ by region. San Mateo County residents may obtain Concealed Weapons permits (CCP), which allows them to legally to carry a loaded "a pistol, revolver, or other firearm capable of being concealed on the person.”

She has told the bad guys that any one not on the list is easy prey.

Though in poor taste, it is NOT illegal to visit a brothel in Nevada.
In all honesty prostitution is ongoing throughout the world.
In places like Nevada it is at least controled. Ladies and now men who work in the business there are checked for disease and taxed. Where as in a noncontroled situation, good luck with whatever you may take home with you.
(Personally I think the sex industry is disgusting and exploitative).

While I am good with JimRob’s/FR’s policy on not publishing such things, I don’t have much problem with others publishing such. I think it is past time to take the high road in many areas. Let pukes like this wench think twice about their actions. The abiding reality is that she has very little to fear from the sort of law-abiding gun owners who care about CCWs and access thereto, almost nothing really on a statistical basis. But she doesn’t know that. Let her sweat a little for what she has done.

When I lived in Virginia a Roanoke reporter did a similar thing by referring people to a state website that released name and address. Thankfully the state reacted quickly and closed the loophole that permitted such disclosure. To publish such information is to endanger people by making them targets for crooks seeking weapons.

Here in Oklahoma a list of concealed carry holders would pretty much be most of the adult population.

I agree. The left is bringing a gun to a knife fight, and we keep insisting that we be allowed to wear boxing gloves. We think they’ll hate us less if we fight “fair”. Well, in this game of winner-take-all politics, it is better to be feared than loved.

I hope ALL my neighbors have them....even the ones I DO NOT get along with.

This is Arizona. We have neo national socialists doing military training in the desert. We don't need guns, we need TANKS...

Arizona socialists in the desert.

Let's see how chan feels about defending herself when these guys are cleared for action against the people.

Reminds me of the madness of 1968 when MLK AND Robert Kennedy were shot. The news media went into meltdown! Guns were blamed! Comic books were blamed! TV was blamed! Movies were blamed! Vietnam war was blamed!

In an article in either LIFE or LOOK magazines, during one of the riots, white people began to put “Soul Brother” signs in their windows hoping they would be spared in a riot.

Some even began to put “This House Is Not Armed” signs in their windows hoping to show they were meek and mild.

I definitely see your point and I’m probably swayed a bit by the fact that she is a girl, albeit, a mindless lefty nincompoop. It’s good to see that the Patch took down the names, their lawyers probably told them “Uh, if someone gets hurt you are in deep shiite.”
Which could be an issue here. If she did get hurt, even if it wasn’t, a CCW or it was a lefty , in CA, it would go very badly for CCW.

They updated the article and now begin it with this:

To Our Readers:

We've decided to remove from four Patch websites a part of an article published on Friday that detailed information about owners of concealed weapons in Redwood City, Menlo Park, Half Moon Bay and Pacifica.
The initial decision to publish this article was not an easy one for us. The subsequent decision to remove the names of the San Mateo County residents who possess a concealed weapons permit is also difficult.
However, after much thought and discussion among our editorial team, we decided that we did not have a compelling reason to publish the names even though they are a matter of public record.
Clearly, the article hit some nerves. The discussion about guns and gun ownership in this country is intense. We saw that intensity in the comments.
An essential part of Patch is to have a civil discussion about many issues that affect us. Unfortunately, many of the comments we received regarding this article were less than civil, and bordered on vitriolic. We always welcome good, constructive comments. Contentious issues within our communities need to be discussed, but that public forum of thoughts and ideas can only be constructive if certain standards are maintained.
Highly negative, inflammatory comments violate our Patch terms of service, and need to be deleted from our article's comment stream as such. Personal attacks, and personal threats, cannot be tolerated for any number of reasons, and will also be removed. That's why we had to remove several threatening comments that came to us after publication of the article.
