Obama: Court Striking Down Obamacare Would Be Judicial Activism
Real Clear Politics ^ | April 2, 2012

President Obama preemptively slammed the Supreme Court as a bunch of "unelected group of people" who will have turned to "judicial activism or a lack of judicial restraint" if they decide to strike down his signature legislative achievement, the healthcare reform act.

Obama was speaking at a trilateral event with the Prime Minister of Canada and President of Mexico.

Obama touted the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, as "a law that was passed by a strong majority of a democratically-elected Congress."

1) Since libs already claim all conservative jurists are "activists" I assume this is then permission to overturn Zero-Care?

2) "...strong majority of a democratically-elected Congress"??? I thought it was "deemed" passed? Seriously, they had to pull every procedural trick they could think of, break equal protection, buy off wobblers with special treatment, and lie about how it was goind to be implemented (Catholic contraception) just to barely squeeze it through. So, "legislative cheating for me but no judicial integrity for thee" is the rule, then?

I’m SO tired of these liberal presidents and their mind games, and their word games, and their DAMN subterfuge when it comes to anything to do the US Constitution and the set up of our government.

Either LEAD like an AMERICAN president or get the HEL* out of this country!!! Freaking marxist — go find some other country to rule over!!

I am glad to hear him saying this - it reinforces my guess that the straw vote yesterday was pretty bad for Obamacare, and the Wise Latina has already leaked the results to him. I think he is going to be very disappointed with the results of running against the Supreme Court.

So, using this asshat’s very fuzzy logic, when the Supremes ruled that Slavery was unconstitutional, that was judicial activism.

I can’t wait to see this jackass’s college and highschool grades.

I have a feeling obamma knows obammacare is history and this is why he is vocal about it.
He may be trying to change one vote before the official ruling comes out? After the ruling it will too late for him to do anything about it.

Everything from 0 and his lackeys is a lie and nothing is as it seems. You’d think more than half the people in this country would catch on.

Hell, no one read it before it was "passed".Scalia got his dig in on that account.

Obama had his little nationalist socialist executive team draft Obamacare and rammed it down the throats of the Democrat caucuses in the House and Senate, while locking ALL Republicans out of the Committee Rooms. Hell they even changed the locks on the doors so no Republican could enter.

Hardly what anyone would call a "democratic" process.I am thinking that more than one Supreme Court justice has taken judicial notice of how that undemocratic process played out.

I think he is going to be very disappointed with the results of running against the Supreme Court.

He's "setting the table." He's going instruct the Executive Branch to defy the court. He's going to precipitate a constitutional crisis by ignoring the Court. He expects there to be widespread civil unrest in our country this summer, and he thinks that he can get away with such a course of action under those circumstances.

I can think of so many adjectives that describe Obama and his agenda. This obvious attempt to intimidate the SCOTUS is just another sign of his intent and his hypocrisy. The horrid excuse of a justice he put on the court is a text book classic example of judicial activism, yet he accuses the court of committing the same thing if they UPHOLD THE CONSTITUTION.

Everything this so-called president has done to America and its people is viewed and felt with total disgust and contempt by the vast majority of the American public.

Let us pray that shows in the November election results.

Judicial review is something like Griswold v, Ct. Creating a right out of whole cloth because it is something you want. Overturning a law because it has the Congress or POTUS going beyond their constitutional power is why the Court exists.

"Obama: Court Striking Down Obamacare Would Be Judicial Activism"

THE REST OF US: Court striking down obamacare would correct the tyranny and subterfuge under which this UNConstitutional fiasco was passed in closed rooms in the dead of night."

I think the irony is, obama went to all the trouble to appoint Feagan to the court, and now that she is obviously not having much luck supporting obamacare, he is effectively turning on her too.

And don't forget how he slashed the Supremes while they sat on the front row at the first SOTU speech.

Geeminney, isn’t that the truth!

Unfortunately, since the entire foundation of our government, its Constitution and its Court was formed by a good and Christian people, what of it has a hope to survive in the long term, among a dimminishing Christian people overtaken by athiests and non-Christian.

Until that is corrected.............
