Democrats boycott Coke, Walmart over voter ID laws

Democratic officials Wednesday launched a two-pronged attack on states with new laws requiring identification before voting, the highlight being a call to boycott Coke, Walmart and others that back a leading organization pushing for voter ID laws.

“We are organizing. We are not agonizing,” said Rep. James Clyburn, D-S.C., who is leading a parallel Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s effort to get government identification into the hands of the estimated 2-3 million Democrats who don’t have one. “We have staffed up,” he said.

Officials from another party-backed group, Color of Change, kicked off a boycott of Coke and other financial backers of the American Legislative Exchange Council which supports new voter ID laws. Other supporters include Walmart and Koch Industries. The boycott call started with a tweet (@CocaCola is helping undermine voting rights. Tell them to stop) and a webpage. The group also has tied the Council to the Trayvon Martin shooting case.

Those efforts came on the heels of a new report released Wednesday by the Center for American Progress condemning new voter idenfication laws in Florida, Texas, Tennessee, Kansas and Wisconsin.

I had to show ID the last time I bought beer in Walmart, and I was delighted because I’m waaaay over 21.

Any idea why?

The Walmart nearest me is loaded with Obama voters today. I don’t think they give a crap about boycotts.

Looks like I’m drinking Coke and shopping at Wal-Fart. They have a Coleman tent with my name on it anyway.

Yeah.. boycotts are so effective. The homos` boycott, for instance, caused Chik-Fil-A to become a more family-friendly dining experience.

Now they’ve laid down the gauntlet, I respect that. I think these people should now show just how much this issue means to them. I suggest they, and ALL DEMOCRATS who agree with them immediately go on a HUNGER STRIKE.

I will both applaud and support their effort while I watch stories about them on TV while eating big juicy steaks and gallons of beer. I think by election day in November, I’ll personally go and shake the frail hand of that brave last dumocrat. We may Go Galt, but these guys... they can Go Darwin!

I find it funny that liberals/Democrats hate someone having to show ID to vote, yet they don’t have a problem with me having to show my ID to exercise my Constitutional right to buy, own and use a gun.

Since you have to have an ID to do pretty much anything in this world, it is insane for them to think that something as important as voting should be done without safeguards or limits. The fact they want us to allow anonymous voting is because they are in favor of allowing illegal voting by illegal aliens, felons, multiple vote casting liberals and other methods that help them win elections. If it weren’t for illegal voting the liberals/Democrats would not win many elections.

We should use the list of who is against voter ID laws as a litmus test of who should be removed from office either by the ballot or the bullet. These people who would set our elections in such a dangerous place should be jailed or ran out of the country. They are enemies of America. They can’t be trusted.
