MACON, Ga. - An annual Easter egg hunt in central Georgia has been canceled after organizers say parents became violent while trying to collect eggs for themselves and their children in past years.

This will be the first time in years that the Easter Bunny won't be visiting children during the annual egg hunt at Central City Park in Macon, traditionally one of the largest Easter events in central Georgia.

Interestingly, we get most of our reports on the behavior of "Holder's People" from UK, Australian, and Canadian national press, not American national press.

Except Tawana Brawley, Duke Lacrosse, and Trayvon Martin o'course.

For that, you need to scale the heights of absurdity.

Whomever organized that Easter Egg Hunt could have solved this problem by simply charging for admittance.

That’s an interesting observation.

We’ve got plenty of P.C. here (hello, Human Rights Tribunals anyone?); but, I don’t think that we have nearly the same level of fixation on race as Americans (or at least, certain Americans).

Then past Ishtar egg hunts have gotten too thugly in the past!

>>I honestly don’t know whether this is thuggin’ it up over eggs or whether this is “helicopter parents” charging out there to “help” little Johnny and Jane pick up the things.

It was the helicopter parents that caused all the trouble at the egg hunt I went to last year. They stress their kids out so much trying to make them into the little overacheievers they think they should be that it’s borderline child abuse.

Agreed, you've got it just as bad.

Thankfully (and I mean that) UK, Aussie, and Canadian press has less an interest in generating a Utopian perception of American society and culture than the American lamestream media, so you guys get more truth about us.

On the other hand, notice how the US media disses the likes of PM Thatcher, PM Howard, and Canadian Energy policy.

Maybe they should be required to wear helmets and shoulder pads?

"That's three eggs, Johnny! Head to the locker room and turn in your gear." heh

Holder’s People and Obama’s sons at it again.

The most dangerous place for blacks is being with a big group of other blacks.

Combine this with the fact most hispanic birthday parties aren’t considered a success until after drinking in a park all day, one part of the family attacks another, and you wonder how any of us actually make it home without serious injuries or gunshot wounds.

The only reason why there’s such a fixation on it here is because the minorities can’t do anything without fixating on race.

Further you don’t have Mexico sneaking up your rear end from the south, attempting to create a new Aztlan nation by Reconquista.

Doesn’t matter the color/race, it’s the class or lack thereof

Have to agree with you there.

More and more I see these "entitlement" and "my little johnny is special" parents that push and shove their way to "win"

My guess is that they are compenstating for a lack of ability and an over abundance of self esteem.

Thuggin’ it up is a safe bet.

All this really indicates is poor supervision of the event by its hosts. Seriously, this should be no more difficult as far as crowd control than a golf tournament.

To start with, there should be “divisions” by age, and “degree of difficulty”, of parts of the course. I’m sure this would be no real problem, and would help insure that even little children would have fun and competition with older kids would not crowd them out.

There would be referees on the course to handle egg disputes between children and settle down any children who are misbehaving. And parents would both have to remain in sight of their children and be quiet, and outside the search area.

Finally, once the children had collected their eggs, they would have to “check them out” before leaving, to make sure they were all “official” eggs. This could be done by putting a tiny RFID sticker on each one. As the eggs are checked out, any without a sticker, or that is visibly damaged, would be replaced with a similar egg.

Or you could simply stop following Ancient Sumerian Religious Rituals.
