Let me spell it out for you: Lots of active duty military were used by the Left to demonize Commander in Chief George W. Bush because of the war against terrorists in Afghanistan and Iraq (a war authorized by Congress) and no one said a word against that. Now that there is one Tea Party supporter speaking his mind about the unconstitutionality of the current President’s policies (citizen detainment without trial or representation) the book is going to be thrown at him. This is my point.
It was wrong for them to do it, and it is wrong for our guy as well. However, a lot of those letters were somewhat anonymous or refrained from speaking directly about Bush. Some of them may not have even been military, and some may have been discharged. But just because they did it, doesnt me we should either. There is a reason for the policy (to not give aid and comfort to the enemy), and if you break it, you are doing just that.
