Four members of the NYPD’s elite Emergency Service Unit were shot early today during a wild shootout with an ex-con barricaded inside his Brooklyn apartment, police said.
Detective Michael Keenan, 52, was struck in his left calf while Detective Kenneth Ayala, 49, was hit in the thigh and left ankle during a 12:30 a.m. firefight with Nakwon Foxworth, 33, inside the suspect’s apartment building at 3301 Nostrand Ave. in Sheepshead Bay, said NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly.

The mayor added: “All the shootings have a disgraceful fact in common: all were committed with illegal guns that came from out of state. And that is the case with nearly every shooting in our city.”Translation: all our strict gun control laws don't do sh*t!

Brooklyn resident Nakwon Foxworth, 33, got into an argument with a group of moving company employees, Kelly said, and threatened them with a gun.
Foxworth took his pregnant girlfriend — who was also carrying their 4-month-old son in her arms — back to their Nostrand Ave. apartment on the sixth floor.
One of the moving company employees called police, according to Kelly, and told a dispatcher, “He’s got a gun, he’s got a gun.”
Once they found his apartment, police looked through the peephole and saw that Foxworth was holding the girlfriend and infant at gunpoint.
A short while later, Kelly said, the woman busted through the apartment door and told police that she was being held hostage. She also said that Foxworth had a gun.
He had a dispute with his lady friend and told her she couldn’t leave. And when she just left and left the door open, he started shooting.”
Records show that Foxworth was incarcerated for 10 years for robbery and selling drugs in prison, and two years for attempted murder.
Blame it on the gun not the person pulling the trigger.... in 10,9,8,7...
Hard to believe the bad guy got four of them.
Kelly went ballistic (!) about illegal guns - he’s going to look pretty stupid about that if it turns out at least some of the injuries were due to friendly fire.

Carried by criminals with multiple convictions. It’s like the MAYOR is saying that if criminals only used legal weapons, then there would be no problem.

Yep, it had nothing to do at all with a low life thug that has already spent nearly all of his adult life in prison for violent crimes.
Make sure to point out that “he had an arsenal”, “multiple purchases”, “assault weapon”, did we leave out any gun grabber talking points?
I would like to point out that it really is irrelevant what they found after the fact. There is no indication from the article that he used any of those weapons in his shooting spree, or that they knew that he was armed with those weapons before the shooting started.
If they did, they need to reevaluate their tactics.
But I thought it is illegal to own a gun in Bloomberg’s fiefdom?
