I guess the left has now given up on eradicating Christianity in totality and now hope to subvert followers to their "reading" of the gospels.
And note Foreheads article about SCOTUS betrayal.
The Enquier has more integrity.

The Forehead wants us to forget that SCOTUS’ duty is to uphold the Constitution not “us.”

The Church is The Church and as such is the target of the Enemy. Were the gates of hell to prevail against her, everything else would wash away.
But it's not to be.

Newsweek is racist. That’s a white, blonde, cracker Jesus. Everybody knows Jesus was black - just ask Rev. Jeremiah Wright, or Sharpton, or Jackson.
Damn racism is everywhere.

Jesus tells us to attend church, and not just to believe in him. So to follow Jesus requires us to go to church.

Swell. We have Snoozeweak peddling a story written by an atheist, deep into faggotry, slamming Christians. If they didn't have these tabloid style covers and mental defectives writing articles to generate controversy, no one would even know they exist.

To follow the church is to follow Jesus:
The eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had ordered them. When they saw him, they worshiped, but they doubted. Then Jesus approached and said to them, “All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.

Andrew Sullivan, along with his liberal friends, like the Jesus they've manufactured; the kind, non-judgmental Jesus who would never make anyone feel about about the bad choices they make in their lives.
They conveniently forget that Jesus's forgiveness comes AFTER the sinner has repented.
Fr. Robert Barron, who made the excellent "Catholicism" series, had a good column responding to Sullivan's article in his Word on Fire blog. Here is the link to the Real Clear Religion page with the article.

Following the Church and following Jesus are almost precisely the same thing. Liberals refuse to recognize that obvious fact, but it’s true. I have different weaknesses from those Andrew faces, but we both face temptations that are difficult to resist. The difference between the two of us is that I recognize both that God is correct on what is best for me and that I should follow His guidance rather than rewriting scripture to support my personal preferences. Sullivan would rather put words in God’s mouth than simply follow God’s Word. It’s a shame he won’t stop talking and writing long enough to hear God again. I have found far more happiness following the Bible than I could possibly have found following my far weaker judgement.
