To hell with the GOP-e. Barring a miracle, they got their big government, unconstitutional mandate loving, socialist abortionist Obama-lite RINO on the ballot, they can now get him elected.

We are the resistance!!

Shove him down our throats today, we shove him up your donkeys in November!!

I can see November from my house!!

I think Mr. Robinson is saying FR will never be a Romney cheerleading board.

With all due respect, that is not an answer. You can't just say that WE are the resistance without some kind of a game plan. Right now, we have those out there, who we here on FR never thought would support Romney. And then we have those who say that a Romney nomination is nothing more than giving Obama another four years. So, is this all just a big joke with MILLIONS of Americans as the punchline? Or could Romney win and actually be a good President? This is NOT a good day.

It's tough in any campaign when your favorite gets eliminated. It drove me nuts when Palin and Cain dropped out early. My heart just wasn't in this thing after that. And seeing Newt on a slow slide was like being pecked to death by small birds. I'll have to dig deep to vote the {"R-word"} ticket this time.

What would help immensely would be if Romney were to select a real, dyed-in-the-wool conservative as his running-mate. It'll be suicide if he goes with a progressive elite.

I don't know about anyone else around here, but after reading his book, "Keeping the Republic", I really like Mitch Daniels. I just don't think Romney can go with any of his former GOP opponents and then feign happiness to the voters about them. Alan West would also get me on board.

But I would like to state plainly here and now....I'm not a happy camper.

Further to our earlier post #131 we would like to state that we are sticking with Newt to the end.

He’s the only one running that clearly knows what is needed to stop this runaway horse, and has the guts, and the experience to do the job, and do it right.

If Wallace was here, he’d shoot lighting bolts from his eyes and fire balls from his arse. All I can do is refuse to vote for the socialist bastard that brought us ObamaCare (either one of them). RomneyCare begat ObamaCare and Romney already has a national healthcare task force lined up to bring similar RomneyCare programs to all 57 states. No thank you. He’s just more of the same.

If Romney and the GOP-e is elected in 2012, you hand 2016 and The Republic to the socialists and that may not be irreversable.

______________________________________________

If obama is re-elected the socialists will already have the WH and within two years the SCOTUS.

We will see CJ Sotomayor heading the court for forty years.

Amnesty through an activist court will tip the demographics forever against conservatives or even centrists.

The EPA will enact regulations that will strangle business. they will be challenged and the Sotomayor court will uphold them.

Obama will drop the other shoe vis a vis his "tell putin to wait a few months" comment.

The level of deadbeats on government assistance will double -- adding millions of new dem voters who rely on the rest of us to live.

Israel will be gone.

And all that is irreversible.

So you can complain about the poor menu or starve, it’s your choice.

Poor analogy.. If I don’t like the menu I can go to another restaurant.

Thank you. Sometimes, you have to fight a holding action before you can go on the offensive. Draw the line, halt Obama, then get some more conservatives in there the next time we can.

"Romney isn't going to win, period.

Ok, fine. So what's my other option? 4 more years of Obamma? The worst of all possible outcomes.

I don't like Romney - so who is going to give me someone else to vote for who has a chance of winning?

Right about now it is looking like "Heads they win; tails we lose."

No matter what, the ONE thing Romney won’t do is declare war on whites. We can go from there. Plus Congress can stop shaking in their ballet slippers from fear of the magic “rayciss” accusation.

I hate to say it, but I think Franklin is going to end up being right about this system of government not working.

He said it would only govern a moral people, which we were, but we aren’t any more.

We need to go to a parliamentary system with a coalition government. At least you could vote your conscious and it would mean something.

Right now, the GOP is the only place you can go if you’re a libertarian. That’s Paul’s shtick.

How rational of you.

I like to think so. My sole hope for the immediate future is that Ted Nugent actually endorsed Mittens, so he must have gotten good feedback from them on the 2nd Amendment.

I'm also torn on leaving the Republican Party. I'm reminded of one of my favorite philosophers: Robert A. Heinlein, when he commented in his seminal work The Notebooks Of Lazarus Long, to wit:

"Of course the game is rigged! But if you don't play you'll never stand a chance of winning."

If folks like me leave the GOP, then we give it over to the moderate/RINOs forever.

That’s some of the best news that Obama has had in a long time. He is now well on the way to getting reelected. I never thought that Free Republic would help to destroy the country. I was wrong.

FR is destroying nothing. But every GOP POTUS since Reagan left the house sure as hell as been helping the DEMs take down the USA to their Socialist level. Yes that includes the beloved to some W. George W Bush was one of the most big government programs expansion of Executive Powers Presidents in history. He was incompetent in about every aspect like his dad. If you want to blame someone blame those who voted for them and Dole etc EVEN IN THE PRIMARIES!!!! The same ones who vote on what Fox New, Rush, on anyone else they rely on to do their thinking for them.

The enemy is Liberals in office both DEM and majority of GOP. The enemy is also unelected officals in now near police state agencies some of which Republicans like Nixon invented. It's not this discussion board FR is not the problem nor the issue.

Sheesh some people have become so conditioned to think that if Stalin were on the GOP ticket he must have party unity from this board to keep Lenin out of office. Yes that is what GOP Party Loyalties over nation has become.

There will be no correction in this nation till we once again have at least two opposing parties running and in office. There is no difference between the GOP and DEMs nor Romney and Obama. None whatsoever. The end results will be the same.
